Unseen footage?

In a Fangoria magazine article published around the time of it's showing it stated that any gore sequences would likely be missing from the tv version but turn up in an overseas theatrical release. Infact there was even a photo of the prop head used in the 'beheading' scene. But to my knowledge any overseas version is the same as the U.S.. Did anybody else read the article?
