Why oh why oh why?

'They said it was over. They were wrong.' - I think you will find they said 'It should have been over [at 3]'.
The Omen movies are a strange phenomenum - the original is an absolute classic, genre defining horror movie. The 2nd was genuinely creepy (the damien actor looks genuinely evil) but has suffered over the years. Watching it now, its a bit boring and irratating at times.
Omen III: The Final Conflict is good and bad. Sam O Neill is perfect as Damien and the story is good - except the end is all too easy.
Some people argue that 4 is not possible as Damien died. But he did have sex with the lady in 3 and even though it was physically impossible for the girl to get pregnant (ie sex round the other end) - you dont expect that to stop the devil in being reborn do you. As Damien was only killed with 1 dagger and not using all of them - then the antichrist is free to transfer to the womans unborn foetus.
Omen IV - okay so lets just ignore the fact that theres Omen IV and Omen V novels and go with a dumbed down for TV type story.
Pointless, pointless, pointless. Its awful. Theres only one good shot in it and that is at the end when the camera pans upwards to reveal an inverted cross made up from the cemetary paths.
So, its not great that the only good bit is the closing shot with the credits rolling is it?

I actually like this movie. I will agree that there is no justifiable reason for it to exist and it does seem like it was made to profit off a well recognized classic, but it is still fun to watch. I always look forward to watching it whenever I go through the whole Omen series at least once a year. The girl who played Delia is great, but I think it should've just been a remake of the first film with a female version of Damien. The whole pregnancy thing with Delia holding Damien's child was confusing and silly, but other than that subplot I thought this movie was pretty decent although still unnecessary.

I am guessing a lot of us watched this very recently on tv lol. It was on last night on the channel called Chiller in my vicinity. They played all four movies. I always liked the fourth movie(though I wished they had gone into more detail about certain things) overall but thought the music was bad in some places and not evil sounding enough. I am not talking about the recycling of the music from the older movies but the added stuff. And unlike a lot of people I did not find the scene with the choir turning evil and chanting cheesy. And I agreed it would have been cool if they just left it at the idea of a female version of Damian. If you think about it I wonder if with the whole twin thing they were going with a dark parody of the virgin Mary. In that case they should have just left out the twin and made it like Alexander was literally her son who was a pardody of the virginal birth. Remember Delia gets her period at 8 so she is technically capable of carrying the egg. Instead of having the dark parody of the virgin birth happen later on it happens when she is a child. The only thing is that instead of carrying it to term in her body the egg is removed and the wife is the surrogate for Alexander.
