The Eyes

Ok. I posted this before I saw the other thread about the the priest being alive or not.

So when the priest was being pulled to the bench at the end while he was still on the ground... his eyes closed.

Then on the bench his eyes popped open....
Goof or on purpose? What say you?

I think the actor just couldn't keep his eyes open long enough in the shots so they added the eyes popping open.

It is true that the dead can move and open eyes even though they are dead.
Residual nerve firings.

How about the other eyes - those of Beatrice Dalle (the blind lady in the Paris cab)? I wonder if she rolled them up herself for the entire scene, so you could almost see just the whites and no pupils? I know some people can do that as a party piece, but normally just for a very short time. Or was some special prosthesis/false eye used? Or even CGI? Any make-up experts out there who can answer? Thanks.
