Ice-T/Judd Nelson Dynamic: Crime-Dominoes

Ice-T and Judd Nelson are terrific as the detective-duo taking on the ominous African-American crime syndicate in Urban America.

Ice-T is a well-known 'gangsta-rap' artist, and Judd Nelson is well-known for his offbeat role as the unruly but sensitive Bender from the iconic 1980s high-school delinquency film The Breakfast Club.

In fact, their characters (Scotty and Nick) nicely symbolize the sort of pseudo-vigilante crime-fighting presented in civics-sentimentalism films.

SCOTTY: This city is flowing with blood.
NICK: Yeah, and Nino's 'empire' carries all the buckets.
SCOTTY: Nino killed my mother, man!
NICK: Are you used to having a partner?
SCOTTY: I don't mind your 'sensitive approach.'
NICK: Hey, I might be sensitive, but Nino scares me as much as he scares you!
SCOTTY: Sometimes I think God should be a cop in this city.
NICK: Or a Narc.
SCOTTY: I'm gonna watch Starsky and Hutch on TV tonight.
NICK: I'm gonna refer to Nino as 'The Sandman' from now on.
