Necessary Roughness quiz; harder than I thought

http://www.hwdyk.com/q/quiz/index.cfm?howwellID=51

I only managed 10 out of 15. As a stone Scott Bakula fan, I hang my head in shame.

reply

I got 14 right. But one question(answer) is wrong and factually incorrect. True fans of the film will know which question I'm talking about.

reply

I got 13 right. One of them I though was kind of a bogus question.

reply

aced it 15/15, but guessed on a couple I had narrowed down to at 50/50, maybe one of the bogus question..I'm not a big movie watcher or goer, or even as big a football fan as I used to be, but I always appreciate this when it's on TV..interesting as much as I've seen this movie I don't think there's one or more than one occasion where I've sat through and watched the entire movie from start to finsh. good movie, underrated, but very funny.

reply

I thought Blake went back because of the team, not to keep Edison in school.

reply

In the film when he tells Edison that he can't quit because it's difficult he tells Blake "you did".

That's when he says something about winding up with Jiminy Cricket, throws his cigarette and turns around heading for campus with Edison saying he seriously can't go back there.

So the answer is flexible but is more correct towards keeping Edison in school.

reply

13 answers correct! Not bad, I saw this movie 7/8 years ago

reply

Scored two TDs, an extra point and a 2-pt conversion (15...)

Which ones did you guys miss...The Sinbad question and the play calling question?

12/15 which I did not expect as I am a huge fan of this movie.

Not all of the players from the penitentiary were or are real life football players.

The question about why Paul Blake comes back to college because of an obligation to the team or to keep Jarvis in school could go either way.

Blake or Coach Riggendorf calling the plays in the final games is another one that could have been either or.

"There are two kinds of people in this world, those with loaded guns and those who dig."

reply

If Blake is calling the plays, why is Papke sending them to Blake from Riggs? (14/15)

This fog is getting thicker!
And Leon's getting laaaaarrrrrger!

reply

Got 15 out of 15.

yep. think "real deal"..

reply

I missed the coach's nickname and the playcalling. 13/15 aint bad. Btw, I'm from TX!

I hate trolls!

reply

Used to watch this a lot in the 90s, but haven't seen it in 15+ years or so.

Got 12/15 right. Woohoo!

reply

13 of 15. Missed the "straight arrow" question and Paul Blake calling the shots.

However, #5 was bogus. Evander Holyfield is a boxer, not a football player. I got it right, but still.

What distinguishes the actors that play the prison team the Armadillos face?

They've all appeared in other sport-related films
They are all professional football players doing cameo roles
They're all related to the producers
They're all studio execs

I thought it was somewhat poetic justice regarding the comment Evander makes before getting on the bus. He says, "I don't feel so good. I think I swallowed a finger." And then 6 years later, Tyson eats his ear for real, LOL.

reply

That was the question I said 2 years ago "is wrong and factually incorrect."

Guess they never fixed it.

reply

14/15...Got the playing calling question wrong, even though in fact, Rigs was the one calling the plays...You know it was him because "Popke send it in" means that the backup QB is relaying calls to the huddle.

reply

I scored 14/15, choking on the final question! Good quiz, though, and fun movie to watch.

reply

I wouldn't call it choking on the final question.. it was just a BAD BAD question. 14/15 out. Personally I took it as Coach Rig.. but a case could be make for Blake, hell even "Stonehands" called one play that got them their second TD. So I take that as kind of a poorly written question at the least. But over all much too easy, even if I hadn't just watched it! LOL. Love this movie, always a fun one.

reply

My favorite question was the one about why Blake quit college as a kid. One of the choices was 'joining Starfleet Academy'. I chuckled at that one because of Bakula's starring role in Star Trek: Enterprise.

reply

Got 12 out of 15.

Probably could've gotten a couple of others, but I haven't seen the movie in about 5 years.

.... Freakin' awesome movie, though. Always loved it. :)

reply

Got 15 out of 15. I answered the last one CORRECTLY. It was Rig who was calling plays, not Blake.
