End of the movie thoughts....

Just got done watching this movie again.. I used to watch this movie all the time on cable..
Anyways, was just thinking about the ending of the movie...
Question:

Do you think(or could it be possible), that the older brother, knew the younger brother(keep getting their names mixed up.), needed some excitement in his life, therefore got him involved? Or got involved solemnly, because he stole the car.

I thought a better idea for an ending, would have been if the eldest bro, had set everything up, to give him some "excitement.". Reason I think it would have been cool, because the eldest says something or other about, living your boring lives(and what-not)..
