i guess that is a good thing,since i really LOVE this movie,and would hate to see any unnecessary bashing.i think this movie is waaay underrated.i love all the people in it,it's just a nice feely good movie,KWIM?one of my all time fav movies!thank goodness for TIVO!!

I love this movie too, and I get something different from it every time I see it. For the most part, it is a modern western with elements of the old classic westerns: the demands of running a ranch, the outcast cowboy who becomes a hero, the lady in distress, and the struggle save the ranch. Instead of the conflict between ranchers and farmers, the conflict is within the family. The ambitious daughter and her banker husband want the ranch for real estate development, while the rodeo cowboy son and his rancher father want to keep the ranch as it is.
