Yeah, I agree. It's one of those movies that defines a (born in the '80s but raised in the) '90s kid's childhood. Such a wonderful movie.

I was surprised by this as well. Mainly because I've never met anyone who didn't like this movie. I was expecting a high 7 rating, at least.

I gave it an 8. While I was in high school when it premiered, I still thought the story was cute and realistic.

Agree. I remember seeing the movie first by myself. Cried my eyes out. My mom came in and saw me crying and said she wanted to see the movie. I ended up seeing it again the same day cause I wanted to see my moms reaction. I ended up crying a second time even though I knew what was coming... My mon? Cried as well ofc... A classic.

I saw this movie at age 8 and I ended up soooo sad that I've never watched it again. Looking back it feels like it could be a 7-8, but I could see myself impulsively giving it a 1 back in the day after watching it just for the s-itty mood the movie put me in.

I'll watch it again at some point. Someone bought me the VHS when it came out on video. It sits recollecting dust, unopened.
