Runtime?

Just a quick question: Is the runtime listed on IMDb correct? I just finished watching this movie - I recorded it on TV earlier this week -, & it says the recording is about 90 minutes. Since the station airing it doesn't show ending credits, the official runtime is normally longer.

So I decided to download it. The complete AVI has a duration of 1:32:03 - including all ending credits. But there's still a difference of almost eight minutes between actual movie length & what IMDb says.

Is it safe to assume the runtime listed here is just incorrect? Or is there maybe another, longer version of this movie?

It might be that the info. is incorrect or maybe they were including the original stations opening as well. I can remember when they had the 'movie of the week' actually on TV and they had a flashy opening before they would get to the actual opening of the movie. Also they don't take into account the commercial break times that added to the length when originally shown either. For every 45 or 50 minutes of movie there is about 10 to 15 minutes of commercial breaks. That's why there is sometimes confusion about how long some mini-series like Centennial are when they are released to DVD. The difference between the commercial free print and the one shown on TV is that the commercials are cut out of the prints for DVD. And sometimes stations will cut little bits out here and there so that a movie will fit in the actual time slot that they have set aside for the movie and allow for the commercials. So it's possible that might also account for a few minutes of the difference.
