yeah, that's a role that just screams Patrick Dempsey's name.
At least Ben Kingsley, who played Lansky in "Bugsy", looks like he could pass for a tough Jewish gangster. Lee Strasburg's Hyman Roth in "Godfather Part II" was also based on Lansky.
I had to continually suspend disbelief while watching P.Dempsey play Lansky.He was miscast big time in this one.
This was a decent sript and storyline but the actors just don't seem right for mobster roles.

Dempsey was still a bit of a nerd during that time period. He easily could pass for Jewish back then. Not that Jews are nerds, but you know what I mean.
shareThe most laughable casting choice was Richard Greico as Bugsy. Bugsy was a tall blue-eyed blonde, not a dark-eyed, dark skinned, medium-height man with an Italian look. I still enjoyed the movie though.
