Too many loose ends (spoiler)

When Meena left the motel in Anil's car, she was wearing jeans and a shirt. No purse, luggage, anything. Later, when she telephoned her mother, she was wearing the wrap she had worn on the Biloxi trip. Where did she get it, since they didn't go back to the motel? Why would they take off for parts unknown without going back for their clothes? Just get in the van and leave the state with no clothes, toiletries, money, etc. Doesn't make sense.

Meena pointed out that they had two weeks to earn enough money to pay for the van, before it was repossessed. Her family should have come up with the money to pay it off. They owed Demetrius that much, since they had ruined his business.

There should have been an epilogue, maybe a year later, showing what Meena and Demetrius were doing. Were they successful in starting up the carpet cleaning business elsewhere? Did they marry? Or maybe showing them returning to Mississippi for a visit.
