I've noticed a trend here

It seems to me that the first time a lot of the posters saw A Midnight Clear was late at night and on cinemax. I am indeed one of those people too.

I love this film. It is one of my favorite war films. It was my very favorite war film until I saw Tae Guk Gi: Brotherhood of War. Nonetheless, this film still affects me the same it did when I first saw it. Everything about this movie is great and it has the most haunting film score ever, especially with Brian Eno's contribution to it. I wish I could get the soundtrack. I have looked everywhere for it.

Most haunting film score ever has to be the flawless enigmatic Peter Gabriel's " Passion" for Martin Scorsese's The Last Temptation of Christ. I havent heard anything that sounds so fresh, so innovative & so surreal till now & its been almost 20 years too.

truly, this is an anti-war movie, not a war movie. also liked your 'millers crossing' reference.
