Hauntingly Beautiful

I'm ashamed to admit that I had never even heard of this movie until recently when a good friend recommended it as one of his favorites. I rented it based on his praise and was simply blown away. I tend to avoid war movies because many of them have a machoism and bravado that doesn't appeal to me, but this movie eloquently captured the senselessness and sadness of war. The acting was near perfection, and the narration almost lyrical. This is a movie that will stay with me for years to come.

I knew that Keith Gordon--who I know mostly from Christine--had gone into directing, but I had no idea he had created something this powerful.

Ignoring isn't the same as ignorance, you have to work at it.
