The thin red line and saving private ryan had NOTHING on this!!!

The thin red line has no soul on it, and even through saving private ryan has a little its nothing compared to A Midnight Clear. The atmossphere in this movie is incredibly, as the characters. Even Peter Berg was great in this, i mean, do I have to say anything else!! XD.

Keith Gordon delivers sucha great involving drama, that succeded in taking you in the middle of the conflict, and feel the only thing you want is just to run away from that encampment, full the fear of the incoming confrontation with the enemies in the nerby nazy post. To really feel happy and relief with the truce they decided. And really shocked witch Mother's.....well, i don't want to spoil anything by describing that scene, but for the ones that saw it....it was so sad and horrible!!

All that just to realize that surviving all that hell leaved no such thing as relief at all, but such a depresing feeling played with such realism by Ethan Hawke, Gary Sinise and Frank Whaley, Dillon and Goss, not to mention, John C. McGinley as always plays the guys with the stick up his ass just perfectly.

I could watch it again and again and even trough i have nothing against Tom Hanks or Matt Damon, or even Tom Sizemore, i believe spr is so overrated!, i feel nothing during the all movie, not with the dumb plot, nor the dying character, and definitely not with the tremble hand by the end or whenever....the tale of Ribisi about not knowing why he acted like he was sleeping while his mother wanted to say hi, was the ONLY good part of it, the rest i just didn`t care or liked at all.

Cool story bro.

"The Thin Red Line has no soul on it".

Of all the bad things I've seen said about TTRL, this certainly is one of the strangest.

It has been noted elsewhere that both TTRL and SPR may have been in some ways influenced by Midnight Clear, but there really isn't that terribly much it has in common with either one.

Granted, this film works in its own low key way. but to claim SPR and TTRL have no soul, is a bit like saying Aretha Franklin can't sing a note and the motor city is actually New Orleans. It just doesn't stack up.🐭
