if this movie would have been made in the fifties it would have been a major hit. baldwin is perfect as the william holden/cary grant playboy and basinger is simply marvelous as the hayworth-meet-monroe saucy showgirl...kim and alec(aswell as this film)belong to an era where movie stars looked like movies stars.

Yes and it's so bad that now this is changed. They really has the glamour and talent. The movie is so good it's just not a today trendy film. The songs are lovely and Kim Basinger is irresistable. You just can't fall in love with her as she sings 'Let's dO it'!

It's funny that this movie both had Kim Basinger and Elisabeth Shue in their respective primes, and yet hardly anybody gave a damn about The Marrying Man.
