I have a question: when Mme. Bovary poisoned herself, why was there blue stuff on her tongue and in her mouth? What causes that?

Veronica Mars died for the CW's sins.
I know arsenic produces excessive salivation (foam); I wouldn't know why it turned blue. (Perhaps it affected the inner lining of the mouth.)
