Im not very familiar with this type of music they play in the movie, but I was wondering what the titles were and the composers of the songs Mme Bovary is dancing on, in the scene where she's dancing with the vicompte...

9 years after your question! Interesting that you comment on this because it is the one thing I disliked most about the movie. Not sure about the opening music, but two Strauss waltzes are played during the ball scene, Les Voix du Printemps and Blue Danube, which is ridiculous since one was written in the 1880s and the other in the 1860s, and the story is taking place in the 1830s. Even without knowing exactly when it was written, the music still sounds way too modern for the scene. I mean, really, could they not have found ANY OTHER waltz to use?
