Let's get Lunatics released on DVD!!

I feckin love this movie so much. Like most of you I only have it on VHS, but I would love to get this released on DVD with an audio commentary from Ted Raimi and whatever extras they could throw together.

I'm figure I'm the only person in the world who's even considered this, but ya never know.... there may be more of you out there.

this is a great movie! I used to run a little film festival called Nothing Shocking and we were going to show this and have Ted as a special guest, but due to evil dead 3 he couldn't come, but he took us for breakfast when we went to LA and got us into a play he was in called Normal Joe, which was excellent, he let us backstage and hung out, this guy was super nice, really genuine, i would buy this in a minute! someone release it!

This movie is long over due for showing up on DVD. I would love to get a commentary from Deborah Foreman (who sat out the Valley Girl DVD) just to see how she views her time in the spotlight. This was a funny, charming comedy that used its stars perfectly.

Hello my Fellow Deb Fans and Friends!! Greetings from the Lone Star State!! Please count my vote in for the DVD Version of the "Lunatics: A Love Story!!! Hi, My Name is Fran, and like Debby, I am also from, and, grew up around in South East Texas. For the past 6 or 7 years I have personally correspondence with Debby on many occasions. Since we grew up near and around the same part of Texas we shared a few of the same acquaintances and friends. Out of all Debby's movies my all time Personal FAV has to be "Valley Girl" : HANDS DOWN!!!! ...Every time I watch it, it will always bring me back to one of my favorite times of my life the fabulous 80's. All the cool clothes, the way too cool hairstyles, the great dance tunes will always hold many great & fun times. I have seen most all of Deb's movies with a few exceptions such as "Lunatics: A Love Story", "In the custody of Strangers", and "REAL GENIOUS'. If anyone might be interested, I would be willing to trade or lend any of my Deb movies such as "In the Presence of strangers" (which is kinda hard to find sometimes, as is the second title listed here: " I am dancing as fast as I can" for the two I haven't seen which I listed earlier in the post. Sorry, but the only drawback is that both of the titles I have are both in VHS format and NOT in DVD format.
Sorry about that :{. If anyone is interested in swapping or lending either movies please let me know, or email me directly at my email address: [email protected]
I look forward to your replies.
Much Peace & Kindness, ~Fran

Hey, Josh Becker fans have asked him about this quite a bit. He says that it's either Sony or Paramount that owns the rights to the movie and for whatever reason, they're not interested in rereleasing it. The VHS is very hard to find and after 5 years, just finally got to see the movie.
With all the redistribution going on, you'd think they would jump at this.

You'd think. Release it already! Preferably Widescreen.

The director Josh Becker has a Q&A on his website (www.beckerfilms.com) and many people have asked him over the years if Lunatics is going to be released on DVD, and he says he has no idea, and he told someone recently that he doubts that Columbia even remembers they own it.

Yeah, that what he told me. It's really depressing that it seems like it will never happen but I do not think all is lost since Bruce Campbell's movies Sundown : The Vampire in retreat just got released on DVD recently and I never thought that would happen. At least I'll always have my VHS copy of the movie.
