Little Things I Noticed

I love how poor people always have really cool (and in this case large!) apartments.

Their apartment was a dump personally, it was big but studio apartments are quite big and often cheap and affordable.

They tried too hard to make Dede "street". She didn't come off as working-class, she came off as trashy & even stupid at times.

True, she kind of came off as a caricature of working class. That being said, I still found Jodie Foster believable as Fred's mom.

So Dede & her friend Gina were just going to quit their decent paying jobs to...dance in Florida?!
Gina said something about a vacation, but what kind of vacation (outside of schoolteachers) is for an entire summer?

Well I don't think she meant it in the way you're thinking. They were going to Florida and working in a hotel, it might as well have been a vacation compared to where they lived.

* The Mathmagician's cape is always stuck on car doors. I think it even shows in the ambulance as it is going away with him inside?
* Where did Fred get money to pay for the bus back home in the end, after escaping the tv show?
