song at the end of 'Light Sleeper'

What was the hauntingly beautiful song at the end of "Light Sleeper?" His voice sounded familiar, but I couldn't place it.

Since I haven't seen the movie but know who composed and performed the soundtrack I would say it was probably Michael Been. He is the lead singer song/writer guitar and bass player for The Call. The band have performed together since the late 70's /early eighties. They have produced many albums in this time but really have had only one radio hit with "The Walls Came Down". The Call would have to be one of the most if not the most underrated modern music band of the last twenty or so years. Al Gore also used a Call song "Let the Day begin" in his presidential campaign. If it was Michael Been you heard and liked that music you'll like the Call. Check out Amazon.com for Call albums

I haven't seen the film in ages (I should, it's a favorite) but I'm pretty sure it's the song "To Feel This Way." Michael Been included two different versions of it on his "On The Verge Of A Nervous Breathrough" album. One is the last track, then the other is a hidden track after a few minutes of silence at the end of the disc. Neither version, I should point out, is the one from the movie. One of the versions (I think the inferior one) was also on "The Best of The Call" compilation. As far as I know, that's the only place to find any of the music from this movie on disc. The lack of a soundtrack for "Light Sleeper" drives me nuts.

There does exist a soundtrack cd, I have it but I don't remember where I bought it. 1982 Warner Brothers UK 9031-77210-2. It has 16 songs, most of them variations on "World on fire" and "To feel this way".

You always see soundtracks for movies you never thought had a soundtrack, and this one is criminal. The Warners one for some reason I disremember as being on A&M, but that's the right number. It's European, and hard as hell to find. They show up on Ebay occasionally, but go for $$$ ($40-$50) I saw one listed there recently from France on the Red Rooster label. I ended up making a cd from the laser disk, but it never came out quite right.

Ironically, I saw (& heard) the end credits in a hotel room somewhere, having somehow missed it when it first came out, and knew I had to see it. It did not disappoint.
