Did he provide the voice of that person telling his character to stop banging on the church door??

Yes,Mel tells us it is his voice in the dvd commentary.

No, it is not Mel. It is Ronny Graham the same man that played the minister in Spaceballs.

No, that was Ronny Graham, who wrote songs with Brooks on previous films and appeared as the Minister in Spaceballs, which he wrote with Brooks. His name is in the ending credits.

It may be Ronny Graham, but I thought it was Mel as well!

It wasn't. Why would he put Ronny's name in the credits as that if he did it? For a gag? As a matter of fact, it sounds like Ronny. You must be deaf.
