One of the worst movies I've ever seen

This is one of the worst movies I've ever seen, and that's saying something! I tried to stick it out to the end, I really did, but I just couldn't take it any more. I finally turned it off near what I assume was the end, but then again I thought the movie should have ended much before I turned it off. Maybe that was the humor Brooks was going for in this film, that people are stupid enough to watch it through to the end, I don't know. He almost got me with it, I am the kind of person who will sit through mind-numbing media trying to find the pearl of excellence that others claim in them. This is one of the few films I gave up on. There is no pearl in this one. Watch "The Producers" instead.

It would have turned out to be a great movie if they got Madeline Kahn play
Molly and Harvey Korman to play Vance Crapwell. "Its Crasswell!"

reply

i don't think so.. they were great in other movies by brooks but this isn't a typical brooks style. it was more serious then funny so i don't think they would've done a good job

reply

Did you ever see the movie For Richer,For Poorer?
It just come out on dvd.
Kahn played a bum very well.

"Oh sweet mystery of life at last I found you!"

reply

This isn't his best, but I still a little bit of pleasure in it(mostly because I'm obsessive about Mel Brooks).

reply

This movie is a total stinker -- it is neither funny or dramatic.

Mel Brooks makes me "die Laughing" with lots of film roles he plays. As Pepto,He is a Groaner. I especially love the scenes with "John Paul Getty".
This movie is a smile and laugh a minute!

Agreed. I rather am fond of this film.....maybe because I can relate to being
homeless (at one time).

I think pitchperfect is just jealous because I'm richer than him!

"Congratulations, you're going to go down in history as the man who killed Superman."

I thought the movie was funny, especially the part when they threw Sailor's ashes. Any movie with bums is an instant classic in my book.

Obviouslly you passed up on Darcula Dead and Loving it then. Becuase that movie was terrible.

When I first heard of it.. I was excited. Mel Brooks and Leslie Neilson. This movie has to be great. Oh was I wrong. I dont remember laughing at all through it. I've refused to watch it ever since.

Admittedly, Brooks has done a lot of films a lot better than this one, but I would not consider it one of the worst movies I have ever seen. It is definitely low-grade Brooks but speaking about movies in general, there are a whole lot of movies I hated a lot more than this one.

This film was good, even if it wasn't the most typical Brooks film. There are definatley worse Brooks films then this one, and there are definatley better ones. But there is no way that this one is the worst.

it was a bet, just a bet, I mean just cause you make a bet doesn't mean you gotta lose all your MONEEEEYYYY!!!!
haha, that part gets me every time.
I love this flick.

I loved this movie. It's actually one of my favorites. Mel Brooks is perfect in the lead. I could see Gene Wilder doing it, but Mel did just fine.

i have the DVD, it is a great movie like any other Mel Brooks movie period.

reply

Worst Movies? this is a great film! Brooks is hysterical, and I love the scene where Brooks beats "John Paul Getty" up because he is immitating him.

They make us live in crap, and now they are taking away the Crap!

I also think its a good movie; it might be not that hilarious as other Mel Brook movies but i liked it, also for the idea behind it. Well done, my vote is 7/10.
