DVD?
Anyone know if or when a dvd would be made of this? This is one of my favorite little films because of the emotion and sincerity of the leads. A very nice story.
shareI don't believe it's available on DVD yet. I lent my VHS tape out to a couple of friends, and I got it back messed up. Since it wasn't available on DVD, I purchased it again on video tape. This is just the kind of film you can watch a couple of times a year. Bound to end up as a classic.
I hope when they finally release it on DVD, they put some extra bonus scenes, and add some commentary with the actors. Wouldn't that be cool?
You'd think with Marcia Gay Harden being an Academy Award winner now (since Pollock), the company that holds the rights would try to capitalize on it. Although not an A-list actor, Peter Berg (who's also a director)is not exactly nobody either.
With that said, I've been waiting for forever and a day for this to see a release on dvd.
I'll join the chorus of folks hungry for a DVD of "Late for Dinner." The film boasts excellent performances and a sentimental -- but not sappy -- plot.
I just watched it again after seeing it a decade ago, and it holds up well. It's no surprise that Marcia Gay Harden would later win an Oscar. I only wish she had reunited with Brian Wimmer earlier in the film.
It would be great to see some deleted scenes or a "making of" documentary as well.
