As a Gay man, I enjoy supporting Queer film. But THE LAST ISLAND offended me not as a Gay man, but as a *man*. The film was just so steeped in Misandry I could not reconcile with its message or relate to any of the characters. Misansdry is just as bad a Misogeny- we should not replace one system of bias and hatred with another...
I am a woman and thought exactly the same. I saw the film a couple of times as a kid when it was aired in German television, and back then I didn't really get it, but as I rewatched it today I felt like it is just blatant misandry and that's a shame.
