How Hott Hallie Berry is ,and yet she can't act to save her life! Especially in this movie. Thank God I she got killed off early in the film.

Nowadays as long as you have the money you can buy anything. Like the Star on the Walk of Fame. Plus if you remember I said she couldn't act to safe her life in "this movie".., however her acting hasn't gotten any better. Of course that's my opinion. And her acting is not the only reason why she got that Oscar.
shareLike already commented, she got the Oscar because the year she won was about honoring black acting. And I agree, her acting is not of the caliber that is Oscar worthy. She is not, never has been and never will be anything but a mediocre acting talent and even that could be an insult to mediocrities.

Harsh. She's a solid actress, particularly in Cloud Atlas where she has multiple roles, and is insanely beautiful. Her Monsters Ball Oscar was waaay token, though.
I didn't know who she was when I first saw LBS, I thought she brought charm to a minor but important role, and felt bad when she took a chest full of lead for no apparent reason.
(laughing) are you kidding me? That was the best part. My grandmother is a better actress..And she's dead.
