Sickest movie ever!

When the woman you love dies, and hands you her daughter, the natural thing for anybody to do would be to accept her as his daughter from that day on. But no, what Kapoor does is he avoids the girl until she is 18 and then when he does see her, he falls in love with her and tells her that he loves her!??? WTF? I liked Pooja's reply though "do you like me or my face? LOL

hello dear,
you seem to be the sailor who cries over the dead fish. A new concept came in t o Indian cinema with this movie. Earlier it was just crying over mother or lover but this movie revolutionised the whole scenario. You should appreciate the maker and the actors to have worked on such a theme.
Hope to hear from you an intelligent reply later.
bye

it's very Memoirs of a Geisha-esque...

nothing that wrong with that...uncomfortable yes..."bad cinema" no

An onion can make people cry, but there is no vegetable invented to make them laugh.

geez! have you people even watched the film. like someone said, it's a bit of memoir of a geisha esque! and just becos she says that she loved him since the age of 5, where's the sexualizing here? is love solely based on sex? maybe that is the case for you or whatever. lovemaking can be an integral part of a romantic relationship but it's not a necessary component to fall in love with someone or to love someone. i agree with anwar, that if this is 'the sickest movie ever' then you haven't seen many films.

korntownballa-1,

I suspect you have not paid attention while watching the movie. Sridevi never handed her daughter over to Anil Kapoor, but to Waheeda Rehman. There is a scene in the hospital where Sridevi asks if Anil Kapoor was the same age as her daughter when he came under the responsibility of Waheeda Rehman. Above this, I assume that you have not seen many movies in your life if you think this is the "sickest movie ever".

this is encestious man. i mean if he was decent then he would have raised her as his own not done her when she was old enough. but i do like the sri devi and anil kapoor thing so i will forgive it. had any other actor played her aggresser then i would have been sickened to no end.

as a kid pooja was kinda of obsessed with viren, that isnt pornography! its infatuation...

the only issue here is the age gap,

who says you can only marry someone the exact same age as you?

what if there is a 4-7 years age gap ? is that incest somehow??

remember viren never raised pooja, never even saw her properly till she was 18...

he wasnt her father or even a father figure...

Why...So..Serious? Let's put a smile on that face of yours!

Holy *beep* I don't get how anyone can call this sick. He had nothing to do with her mother, he wasnt related to her in anyway. Her mother didnt even know he liked her and *beep*, he didnt even try anything with her.
She was infatuated with him and pursued him, so what if it evolved into love for both of them. Get over your weirdo *beep* the only issue here is an age gap, which isnt really an issue, as people with bigger age gaps get married everyday in RL.

Lot of good movies don't find an audience, while lot of junk movies find a huge audience.

I particularly liked the movie because sex has nothing to do with love, although many movies seem to make it out that way through and through. When Anil Kapoor doesn't let the elder Sridevi know that he loves her and instead arranges her marriage to go off properly, he's not looking for sex for God's sake, but just wants her to be happy!!! People who like this movie like this precisely for that reason. There is nothing sexual between Anil Kapoor's role and either of Sridevi's roles. The age gap may shock many, yes, but that doesn't at all make it sick. And please don't gross the movie out by calling anything in there incest!

Of course, one may have wanted to end the movie differently and thats purely subjective.
