Please help...

I remember seeing this movie when I was a kid and loving it...I couldn't remember the name for years but I finally found it and bought it so I would have it for my kids to watch....but I was wondering if anyone could recommend other movies like it...ie: the labryinth, the storyteller....these movies are all puppet animated with human actors and usually tell some kind of fairytale or story.... any ideas????

Well there is the "The Dark Crystal" wich is mostly puppets

and "Never ending story" i liked this.

and "Legend" (although if you have really little little kids, 'Legend' might seem a little scary in parts-but still a great fairytale, and Tom cruise is like soooo young in it ^_^)

and "The Time Bandits" this one I saw when very little and don't remember the plot but the title speaks for itself. Has cool effects.

Lets see, you might know this one and it's not really a fairy tale but "Muppet Treasure Island" is one I always liked that had puppets and human actors too.

and "Willow" is for older kids (11-14 ish) and doesn't necessarily have puppets in it but it's a good fairy tale-istic adventure too. This Coincides with "The Princess Bride" too.

and "The Last Unicorn" although I vaguely remember what happened in this one

and the original "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe" I love too. but you've probly seen the new 'Narnia' one which pretty much is the same story. But I'm a sucker for Originals......

"Jason and the Argonauts" this is for older children too and is has lots of greek mythology stuff, not really 'fairy' tale. But it's a good adventure one.

and "The 10th Kingdom" is pretty good one for all ages. It's aired on TV and you can get it at any DVD store I'm sure. In the 'Television' sections. About a girl and her janitor dad get stuck in this magical kingdom, and try to get back to their world with the aid of a Wolf/Man who falls in love with the girl and their chased by trolls, and evil queen and stuff like that.

And that's about all I can think of at the moment for fairytale stuff for kids.....I'm sure there are a lot more that I can't think of. Hope I helped a little.

You should try "Shelley Duvall's Faerie Tale Theatre". It doesn't have puppets but each episode is the retelling of a fairy tale. They were made in the 80s on PBS but with some big name actors (I love love love the Cinderella one with Matthew Broderick!). They have the box set of dvds on amazon.com for a descent price. I highly recommend them! I was in love with them as a kid and bought the box set for myself last year and they are still fantastic!
