To scndform, Some dialogs from Kroll

I won't explain the plot because cichy already did it. You didn't write which dialogs do you want me to translate first. So let's begin with my favorite ones.
To make my job easier:
Marcin Kroll-the fugitive
Kuba Berger-Kroll's best friend and Agata's lover
Agata-Kroll's wife who cheats on Kroll
Marta-Kroll's sister who's secretly in love with Kuba
Lt. Arek-he's sent after Kroll basically because it's believed that Kroll stole the army's weapon.
Cpl.Wiaderny-he's sent to help Lt. Arek to capture Kroll.

Do you remember when Kuba comes at the train station to meet Agata in a bar?
Kuba: He found out? (he's talking about Kroll)
Agata: He read all of your letters
K: And...?
A:...and he threw up on a carpet...if he goes to jail I won't leave him...not when he'll be in jail. Kuba, if you want us to be together you have to help him...for us
K: I'll find him. I promise you...I love you
A: Do you regret?
K: I've always regretted but I would never give up any moment we were together

After that scene they take a cab and go to Melec's house:
Agata: Why here?
Kuba: Only Melec knows how to find Marcin
[that blondie in bed is Angela-Melec's girlfriend (I don't know if you knew it but Agela is played by Lidia Popiel-Boguslaw Linda's wife:)]
Melec: Kuba! Hi
Kuba: Hi
M: Come on in. Give me a sec I'll change
K: Don't bother. We just came to talk
M: But we can have a drink, can't we? Sit down. Agata, what do you want for a drink?... I'll pick something for you
(Angela comes in)
Angela: Kuba
Kuba: Hi
A: You look great...good to see you...I thought you are in Vienna by now...Aren't you going?
K: I am..tomorrow...actually tonight
Melec: Well, kids...what's your problem?

The next scene between Melec and Kuba
Kuba: Son of a b***t. He decided to desert
Melec: Yeah, what an a****e. He should stay in the army and wait 'till you'll get bored doing his wife...and then you'll go to Vienna to make money

Back to the house: Angela and Agata
Angela: When Kuba and Marcin were younger they looked like brothers. I couldn't tell the difference between them...
Agata: I still can't

Back to Kuba and Melec. Melec shows Kuba the car
Melec: He...take this one...I can't be on your side. Besides, this time everybody will lose
So Melec only lends Kuba a car to look for Kroll.

I also like the scene when Lt. Arek attacks Kuba because he thinks it's Marcin
Arek: Where is the weapon, Kroll? (Arek uses the word "giwera" that's a Polish slogan for weapon)
Kuba:I'm not Kroll
Marta: NOOOOOO!!!
Neighbor: What's going on?
Arek: Shut up!!!(to Marta) Then, who are you?(to Kuba)
Kuba: Kuba Berger
Marta: It's Kuba. Let him go, it's not my brother
Arek: You (to Marta)...what did I tell you (he means he told her to shut up)
(Then Lt. Arek checks Kuba's ID)
Arek: You should be in Austria. What are you doing here?
Kuba: Same as you...looking for Marcin
Arek: Then you have 6 hours to find him...and 5 minutes to trust me
Marta: trust...you?
Arek: And you have better idea Miss?
(Then Kuba asks Arek what's "giwera" but Arek doesn't answer. He throws a key to Marta and tell her to open the cuffs on Kuba's hands)

Next scene is between Marta and Kuba
Kuba: He didn't like what he found out?(he talks about Kroll)
Marta: I didn't tell him (she's lying it seems she's the one showed Kroll the letters from Kuba to Agata)
Kuba: You idiot...You have no idea how much evil you've done
Marta: Let me go...it wasn't me
Kuba: ...so much evil...
Marta: well, not as much as you have
Kuba: No...but that doesn't excuse you...Find me Marcin's letters from the army...names, addresses, everything

Next scene: Kuba hands back the cuffs to Arek:
Kuba: Please, get in (to Arek)
(Agata sees Marcin's letters in Kuba's hands)
Agata: It's for me. You can't read it
Kuba: He read mines, didn't he? Piotr Sroczynski?(to Arek)
Arek: He's in the army
Kuba: Marian Wrokiel?
Arek:He went to Slupsk...Leave of absence
Kuba: Edek Wiaderny
Arek: He is Corporal...no...they don't like each other
Kuba: Nobody likes him. We'll try. Do you have his address?
(Kuba starts the car)
Marta: Wait!!! (she gets into the car) Marcin will kill you. It shows right away that the two of you just got out of bed
Agata: Interesting...it seems you can't wait till you try yourself (she means to have sex)
Marta: B***t
Kuba: Shut up!
Marta: Ugly b***t. Why did you take her anyway?
Kuba; I said shut up...both of you
Marta: And he should (she means Kroll should kill Kuba and Agata) I hate you both
(Here comes the best part)
Arek: You Miss...are Kroll's sister?...and you Lady...are Kroll's wife? Aha...and you are his best friend?...he he...I'm beginning to understand him

Then they "collect" Wiaderny...while he's making his friends to put out the fire...the scene after Wiaderny gets into the car
Wiaderny: Do you know Lieutenant how surprised I was when he came to me (he means Kroll) I thought he came to fight and he took out vodka
Arek: Wiaderny...where did he go?
Wiederny: Well, no...first we drank...but Kroll didn't like my friends...well, you saw them yourself
Arek: Where?
W: Well, he wanted to dance but...me and dance-club!?! so he went alone, I don't know some 2 hours ago
Arek: which one?
W: "Venus" or something like that
(Arek looks at Kuba. Kuba nods-he knows where it is)
Kuba: Why didn't you stop him?
Wiaderny: What am I a cop? We serve together, don't we?
Arek: Did he say anything about Skinny? (Skinny is the one who committed a sucide)
Wiadreny: He talked about wh***s. I mean about women...I told him that Skinny was a wuss. He could've waited 'till his leave of absence and then drown himself
Agata: Stop it!!!
Wiaderny: What do you mean "stop it"? Lady...do you know what a mess he made in the unit? He was a wuss. He almost got run over by a tank or a train...even Lieutenant had to pull him out once
Kuba: Skinny? Was he the one who you harassed because he was a Shintoist?
Wiaderny: What "harassed" what "harassed"? He was weak, not "a Shinto...###t" (obviously Wiaderny can't repeat the word so he changes the subject...hehe. By the way a great performance by Czarek Pazura)
Wiaderny: Hey!!! you know what kid? you better pick up someone else's wife
Kuba: I have no idea what are you talking about but get out of my car
Wiaderny: You know perfectly well what I am talking about
Kuba: No I don't, get out!
Wiaderny: So you're gonna find out...At first I thought you're a homo but you are a simple pig because you ass***e don't know how to respect "a sacred". And the wife of a friend in the army is sacred. Understand???!!! You get away from serving in the army and now you such a smart-ass. But at the company you would kick the bucket the first day and any first-hand excuses and explanations wouldn't help you (Wiaderny tells Kuba that other soldiers would kill Kuba for what he did to Kroll)
Wiaderny: In the army everything is straight-forward: wives are at homes and wh***s are on the other side of the fence and you ought to be a human not a pig
Kuba: And the one who drowned...was who: a human or a pig???
Wiaderny: Oh Man...you know nothing? He drowned himself while he was trying to escape and the army keeps it in a secret because the insurance company wouldn't pay his family a cent.
Kuba: Get out of my car
Agata: It is not your car
Arek: If we find Kroll 'till morning, we will forget about everything. Things like that happen to married soldiers. Sometimes, you should try to understand us, shouldn't you? drive, I don't feel like talking to you...

Ok, that's it for now. I hope this helps. Give me some feedback. If you like the way I did it I will add more.Bye

reply

Wow! You really went to a lot of trouble on my behalf. I can't tell you how much I appreciate it. This helps a lot. I comprehend a lot more than I did. I love the way you wrote everything!

So what prompted you move to the United States?

reply

It's not a problem. I'm glad it helps. And now that I know this form works for you I can continue adding more. But I'll do that on weekends if you don't mind. During weekdays I work the whole time.

What brought me to the US? Well, after I finished high school I decided to study biology. But biology in college was nothing like biology in high school. I had so many oral exams (I hate oral exams)from botany and zoology. I needed to know the name of a bird, a mammal or a plant in Polish and in Latin. The first semester I survived but the second...hmmm...let's just say I dropped out before they kicked me out. I really think the system of education is much better in the US than in Poland. And that's why I'm here:-)

reply

Of course I don't mind that you translate on weekends.

Linda does seem to do better at tough-guy or serious roles, but wasn't Sara considered partly a comedy? I loved him in that.

I'm glad you found a way to continue your studies. I am an elementary school teacher. I teach an advanced second grade at a charter school.

Your English is amazing. Did you study English in Poland?

reply

Great, you can expect new stuff this coming weekend...

To be honest I don't really find Sara funny. Some Pazura's lines made me smile but not Linda's. There is one Linda's line in PsyII which always makes me laugh, though. Do you remember when they finally catch those two guys who stole the car with the gun? The rookie(Pazura) asks: "Jesus! What are we going to do now?" Wolf(Zmijewski): "We will bury them" The rookie: "Are you crazy Wolf! I won't let you kill them" Franz(Linda): "WHO SAYS ANYTHING ABOUT KILLING WE'LL BURY THEM ALIVE"- I love this line:)
Once, I watched an interview with Boguslaw. He said that he thinks that Polish cinema lowered standards these days. And I think he's right. They don't make movies like Kroll, Psy or Sara anymore. Too bad!!! Ok, so maybe Kroll and Psy were depressing and full of swears but at least they had some sense. All of these romantic comedies are boring and simply stupid.
But there is one romantic comedy ("Blind Date" 2010) in which Linda actually played a short role...but he said he only accepted it because it was for a large salary

Thank you for such a nice compliment. But I don't think I can accept it. My English is so imperfect. I have problems with the grammar, especially with articles and tenses. I never know when to use Past Simple and when Present Perfect (as a teacher you probably noticed that) I'll probably die not knowing this rule. But even so my written English is still better than my spoken...I don't have problems with communication-I mean people understand me. But given the fact that I was 20 years old when I came here I have a Polish accent which is mine curse:(
Yes, I studied English in high school then in college. But it was British English. So back then it was trousers-not pants, pants-not underwear, petrol-not gas, cinema-not movies :)

reply

I'm leaving tomorrow on vacation until July 25. I might or might not have access to a computer so If I don't respond until then that is why.

I wish I spoke Polish as well as you do English. Yes, you do make some mistakes with verb tense but this is minor and will get better with time as long as you keep speaking English. Americans love accents so I wouldn't worry about that.

British English is a lot different from American English. Not only different nouns as you mentioned, but also different pronunciation on vowels. Brits tend to pronounce a lot of -a words with an "aw" sound. The word "tomatoes" for example. Brits say "toe-maw-toes" but Americans say "toe-may-toes."

Perhaps I tend to look at Sara from a different perspective but I found quite a bit of humor in it. For instance the way the gangsters spent most of their time watching American gangster films. The irony was I am an American watching a film about Polish gangsters who are watching films about American gangsters.

How close are the subtitles to correct translations in Sara? I have head that they Psy I was very badly translated.

reply

You know, you're right. There is a scene in Sara when Leon comes to Joseph's house for a dinner. Leon passes all of those gangsters as they're staring at the TV. This is pretty funny.

I don't know how bad the translation for Psy I was (I never watched it with subs).
The translation for Sara was okay but there were some disagreements between what was said and the translation. For example, there is a scene when Sara tells Leon that she loves him and she didn't know it was so easy...then she says: "You don't have to love me but let me be here" (she means his apartment). But they translated: "You don't have to make love to me but..."
It's wrong. She wants to have sex with him. She wants him to make her a woman. Why they translated it this way??? I really don't know.
By the way, do you remember the scene at the Chinese restaurant? Do you think Leon really said: "Go *beep* your yellow mother" to that couple? Would they clap by the end of tango if he did?

Have fun on your vacation:)

reply

Let's start from the beginning this time:

Captain: Let's move along
Conductor: But this is important.
Captain: Why?
Conductor: It's too heavy. It won't hold. They didn't put it on like they should have.
Captain: What are you talking about? It's not the first time I'm doing it.
Conductor: But it should have a special protection
Captain: Oh, come on. You can't expect me to unload everything right now
Conductor: Anyway, see yourself
Captain: Show me then
(we see someone hitting with the hammer and someone else yells "let's do it")
Conductor: You see? It's too thin. It should be specially protected. I'm telling you, it will break. It will break like a match as soon as the train moves
Captain: God damn it! (to Lt. Arek) Reload everything...to that side...at once!

Lt.Arek: Get me Pluszeje
Soldier: Yes Sir

Arek: Wiaderny!!! (Kroll walks towards Lt. Arek but Arek just makes a gesture with his hands like he would say "It's not my fault that we have to do it again")
(soldiers are pushing a tank and yelling "I raz, i raz!!!"-it's like "Come on let's do it!!!")

Lt. Arek: Wiaderny!!! Get here at once!!!
Wiaderny: Skinny, Damn it, get to work!!! (Skinny hurt his hand and he tries to wrap it up and he doesn't pay attention to what's going on around him)
Wiaderny: Lieutenant. It can't be done!!! It was just uploaded and we're alone. Damn it! It's 9 p.m. and it's raining. For God's sake, Lieutenant!!! We won't make it, really Lietuenant
(Arek looks at Skinny then at the moving wagon, he jumps to save Skinny yelling "Chodzinski!!!" (by the way, I think other soldiers called him "Chudy"-("Skinny")for two reasons. First-because of his name, second-because "chudy" can also means "weak")
Wiaderny: Watch out!!!
Lt. Arek: You freaking idiot!!! A razor is not enough for you? You need a train???(he means committing a suicide)
Skinny: I lost letters, Lieutenant
Lt. Arek: You lost the mail?
Skinny: Yes
Lt. Arek: Guys will kick your butt

Soldier: Get up, Chudzinski!!!
Wiaderny: Private!!! Tension!!! Hold a posture!!!!
Soldier: Get up!!!You freaking cat!!! ("Cat" in the Polish army means a rookie)
To be honest I hate that scene. Wiaderny and that other soldier simply pick on Skinny, they yell at him only because he's a rookie. That's the only reason. I really hate Wiaderny in that scene...and feel sorry for Skinny.

And then Kroll joins in to help Skinny.
Kroll: Leave him alone, damn it!!!
Wiaderny: What will you do if I don't?
Kroll: I'll show you!!!
Lt. Arek: Hey there, stop it!!!
Wiaderny: Yes sir

Wiaderny: So what will you do???
Kroll: I said leave him alone. He has enough already
Soldier: Are you freaking crazy, Kroll?
I have to be honest here. I can't really understand what they say next. Wiaderny yells at Kroll. I think he's angry because Kroll is brave enough to stand up to him even though Kroll is just a Private and Wiaderny is a Corporal. Kroll says "Leave me alone too" Wiaderny says: "Because what?" Kroll: "Because the digital restrains" (I didn't know what that means so I checked. It seems every rookie starts with a big number, like maybe 20 or 10. The bigger number the more useless orders he has to do, and the more picking up he has to take) The other soldier says: "You better stop protecting him, Kroll", Wiaderny says "Hey man, you still have two in front " Kroll answers: "That's Kroll, for you"
Lt. Arek (breaks between them): Damn it!!! We won't let ours butts soak the whole night
Wiaderny: Tension Private Kroll!!!
Lt. Arek: Tension Wiaderny!!!
Wiaderny: Yes Sir
Lt. Arek: I gave you an order, didn't I?
Wiaderny: Yes Sir
Lt. Arek: About turn and do it!!!
(don't you just love Arek for that scene?)

Next scene Marcin ans Skinny
Marcin: Jump up and go to sleep
Skinny: Marcin...thanks
Marcin: Ok, avoid Wiaderny
Skinny: I have to pass around the mail
Marcin: I'll take it. Don't worry
Skinny: You told me so much about Kuba that I, myself, would want to become your friend
Marcin(pushes him): Go to sleep
Skinny: You wouldn't do that to Kuba

In the next scene Marcin is passing around the mail [it seems other soldiers (like Wiaderny) take money for that] Marcin wakes the young soldier and gives him the envelop.
Young Soldier: It's from my mother. 50 is enough?
Marcin: Go back to sleep

Marcin sits down and looks at the letter. But it's hard for me to tell from whom. It's either Agata or Kuba. And then Wiaderny walks to the side where Skinny is sitting. Skinny tries to stand up but Wiaderny stops him saying: "Sit down. After the hours of service we're friends, aren't we?" and he's about to pee (Wiadreny is such a mean pig at the beginning of this movie) Again, Marcin comes to rescue... He sits down back to Wiaderny and lights up a cigarette.
Wiaderny: They smoke everywhere. You can't even pee in peace...

Next scene...

Corporal (with sarcasm): You couldn't starch it more? Next...
But the young soldier doesn't leave. He starts to count sheets.
Corporal: Hey kid!!! What are you doing?
Young soldier: I'm counting
Corporal: They haven't cut your tail off yet, you *beep* cat?
Other soldier: Quiet! You don't trust the old army?
Young soldier: Corporal, I've got enough of covers but there are only 9 sheets
Corporal tears one sheet in two and says "Now there are 10"
Lt. Arek: One sheet is one sheet(he's not very sober)
Other soldiers: That's right
Corporal: Next cat
Marcin: Kid? Skinny was supposed to do that?
Young soldier: He can't. He still keeps his guard
Marcin: I thought he finished at 8 p.m.
Young soldier: No, he didn't. Wiadreny keeps him for the second shift
Arek hears everything. Someone says to Marcin: "Run, grandpa, run"
Young soldier: Near the garages
Lt. Arek: Be careful, Kroll

Next scene. Wiadreny does what he likes the most...picks on cats. He shows the soldier to put down the bucket with water then he kicks the bucket yelling "Bring the next one, at once!!!"
Kroll walks while others are washing the floor. They yells at Kroll "Grandpa..." and I don't know what else it sounds like "...you have dirty hoofs" but I really can be wrong

Wiaderny: Kroll, you're at the company. Fix your belt...
Kroll: Where is Skinny?
Wiaderny: Do you have sperm in your brain? then go pee

Kroll can't control himself. He hits Wiaderny. Other Corporal runs he tries to pull Kroll away from Wiaderny yelling : Stop it Kroll!"
Kroll: Let me go you a****e
Corporal: Not here. I'm telling you not here
Kroll: Let me go
Corporal: Are you freaking crazy. You beat Corporal in front of the young army?
Kroll: Wiadreny, I have enough of you. I can't stand you anymore
Corporal: Not in front of cats. Stop it
Kroll: I'm good
Coropral lets him go but Kroll throws himself at Wiaderny again
Corporal: Stop it, damn it

Captain and Lieutenant Arek are coming. Someone yells "Tension" Kroll runs away

Captain: You make me weak, Wiaderny. You let them do whatever they want
Wiadreny: But Captain he surprised me
Captain: What a bull... Either you write a report or you take care of him...what? are you afraid of the grandpa?
Wiadrny: Captain...tomorrow he'll be flying like a Pershing
Captain:...and that's what I'm talking about. It's either us or them...I'm right, aren't I?
Lt. Arek: That's right

Marcin: Skinny?? Tadziu (Tadzio in English is Ted)

Marcin then notices that in the building with showers the lights are on. He goes there and finds Chudzinski's stuff. He figures Skinny is under the shower and he says: "Skinny, you must go back to your duty...Come out Skinny...Tadziu"
and then Marcin sees Skinny dead. Marcin (crying): "You stupid jerk"

Next we see soldiers seeking throughout the pond. They find the body of Skinny but the main target of searches is the weapon (I guess Marcin didn't want anyone to find out that Skinny committed a suicide that's why he "staged" Skinny's drowning)

Soldier: Captain. We didn't find anything
Captain: Keep searching further
Wiaderny: You know what...bring the car...I have something!!!(he jumps in and fishes out Skinny) Wiaderny to others "Take him". (I think Lt. Arek may check the pulse???)
Wiaderny: It's Skinny
Captain (with anger): We see Corporal it's not Marshal Rokotowski God damn it! Let's go

Captain: Where's Kroll?
Corporal: No Kroll...just this one (nodding at the body of Skinny) It was needless to rescue him...and make such a mess
Captain: Dry the pond and search it thoroughly, do it! (to Arek) You'll take an order and you'll find that Kroll before the prosecutor starts nosing here
Arek: I don't have too much time
Captain: You don't have time at all...I want to have the complete company
Arek: Minus one (he means Skinny)
Captain: That's mine *beep* problem. And you ought to find Kroll and guns

Wiaderny: Tension! Cats! Get out! Move it! Move it! Move it! (the first time I watched Kroll it was weird for me to watch Cezary Pazura as Wiaderny. I mean at the beginning of the movie he's so cruel and mean. Before I've known Pazura just from comedies)
Arek searches through Kroll's stuff to establish where he can be. He finds the photo
Arek; Who's this?
Wiadrny: He visited Kroll at least three times since the oath but without that chick
Arek: Really, wanted to travel that far?
Wiaderny: Kroll says that only...
Young Soldier: Carporal...
Wiaderny: What it is, kid. Get out! ...Kroll says that only male friendship is worth anything and the whole world is one big *beep* except urine
Arek: Stylist
Wiaderny: Excuse me?
Arek: What else did he say?
Wiaderny: That all women are w***es except mine and his mother...that's what he was saying
Arek: So where is he? at mother's or Kuba Berger's
Wiaderny: I would check that friend

In the next scene we see Marta following Kuba...because she's in love with him

Arek: Army must be based on a discipline Mrs. Marcin's behavior deserves to be punished for 2 years of prison. And then he will still have to serve 220 days to the end of the service only this time most of it in a disciplined unit in Orzysz
Mrs. Kroll: Marcin to prison? like a criminal?
Arek: If Kroll's case is taken by the military procurator then your son will be a criminal Mrs. Kroll
Mrs. Kroll: Good you're here Marta. Your brother ran away from the army...You said if the case is taken by the procurator...?
Arek: Yes, unless Marcin will come back with me. I leave the main headquarter of garrison at 8 a.m.
Mrs. Kroll: Will you excuse me (she takes some pills)
Then we hear the sound and we see an opened window which means Kroll has just escaped
Marta:Why?
Arek: What do you mean why?
Marta: Why this commander likes Marcin?
Arek: Because Marcin is a volunteer, Miss
Marta: What a bull? He arranged a postponement 6 times. He even faked concussion
Mrs. Kroll: Marta
Arek: Marcin has to come back till tomorrow morning
Mrs. Kroll: We don't know where he is
Arek: I'm sorry
Marta: Please, give us some time. Three, four days
Arek: There's no time anymore Miss. That's all
Marta: Maybe for you...For Marcin it means the end
Arek: Then tell it to him. You have 13 hours

Marta: The doctor forbade you to leave bed
Mrs. Kroll: He forbade me excitements too
Marta: I'll go to Kuba. Kuba will find him
Mrs. Kroll: Take a bath and go to bed
Marta: Kuba...
Mrs. Give it a rest with Kuba
Marta: What's wrong with you?...Mom?
And then Mrs. Kroll faints Marta keeps yelling "Mom" "Don't die, please" Mrs. Kroll tells Marta to call an ambulance

Next scene Agata and Kuba. It doesn't seem she has too much fun to me but after she says "thank you" and "I love you" Marta knocks:
Marta: Kuba? Kuba open. Kuba I saw the light. Kuba please, Marcin ran away from the army. You have to help me
Agata: You're not going anywhere
Kuba: Marcin ran away...
Agata: Do you want to be with Marcin or with me?
Marta: Please, open
Agata: Always nothing else but your Marcin (who would've guessed that lady is Marcin's wife:)
Kuba: Marta? I've just come in. What are you doing? it's after 11 p.m.
Marta: Marcin ran away from the army. You have to find him till 8 a.m.
Kuba: I have no idea where he can be kiddo...If he's in town he will go home for sure. Wait for him there
Marta: You have half an hour. Get dressed
Kuba: Your mother knows you're here?
Marta: You are going to find him or not? (she sees Agata)
Kuba: I'm sorry but I don't know how to find him
Marta: Sorry...you will be when he finds you. And he knows how
Kuba: Marta!!! (I don't understand what's with Kuba's bleeding nose but it bleeds)
Agata: I'll take your jacket cause it's raining
Kuba: Stay
Agata: I have to go...I'll call you later
Kuba: Agata but when...(he's leaving to Vienna this night)

Agata throws away Kuba's jacket. (Agata is a strange character to me. She tells Kuba she loves him and then she says the same to Marcin...)

Agata at home sees the mess Marcin made because he read Kuba's letters
Agata: Oh God!
Marta: So? Was it good?
Agata: Where is Marcin?
Marta: You're asking me? He's your husband. He was here when I was at Kuba's...when we both were there
Agata: And where's your mother?
Marta: They took her to a hospital (she reads one of the letters) "I can't wait till I can touch the whole you and inside..." it's for you...somewhere here was the fragment in which he (Kuba that is) writes when he did you the first time
Agata: You are lowdown
Marta: Me?
Agata: I hate him

The next couple of scenes I already translated.

Kuba and Agata leave Melec's house:

Agata: You're afraid so you're leaving to Vienna?
Kuba: Yes. I was always afraid. I thought that when I will be in Vienna I won't find out that he found out. I love you
Agata: Kuba? What will happen to us?
Kuba: You don't have to worry about that. Probably Marcin will kill us

Again I already translated next scenes.

to be continued

reply

Hi, I'm back from Seattle. It's nice to sleep in my own bed again. Thank you so much for the opening scenes. It makes SO much more sense now.

No, I hardly think that if anyone had just been told to go *beep* their mother they would be clapping in appreciation at anything this person later did- unless they didn't speak Polish well enough to know what had been said to them.

Sara isn't a perfect movie by any means- there's probably a lot of places you could pick it apart. One scene I can't stand is when Sara spills hot soup on Leon and he starts making these whimpy whining noises. However, Sara still remains one of my favorite films. How was it recieved in Poland? Was it a hit?

reply

Hey! How are you? I hope you had fun on your vacation.
I didn't add any dialogs this passed weekend. Sorry about that. The weather was so hot and stuffy. I don't know what's your reaction to humidity but it exhausts me. But you can expect something new this coming weekend:)

Let me go back to that restaurant scene. You see Leon said something to that couple in Chinese. In the Polish version they didn't even translate what he said. The only reason I rented DVD was because I heard that it has interviews with actors from Sara. I decided to watch the movie with English subs just for fun and then I noticed that they translated Leon's text in English. But same as you I don't think the translation was right.

You're right. Sara isn't a perfect film. There are some scenes that I can't stand myself. I don't like that soup scene either. Those noises made by Leon sound so out of place. I don't like that scene with a drug dealer. The close up when Leon is about to knock-out the drug dealer with his fist looks so fake. I don't like what Sara says to Leon after they have sex for the first time: "I want you to do this to me more. I want you to lie on me so I can feel you inside of me..." I don't remember if that's how they translated it in English but don't you think it sounds so childish? The director spent 42 minutes making Sara soooo not innocent just to make her sound like a kid in 43 minute of the movie. I was a teenager once and I know that any normal teenage girl (who respects herself) would never say something like that. I also think that the movie lacks kisses. Really!!! If they could show a 16 years old girl naked why they couldn't have had kisses between her and Leon? (by the way I don't know how you see it but to me there's only one sex scene and it's great. Full of passion. There is not even one porn movie that can compare to that scene).
I also think that the last scene between Sara and her father was weak. They could have worked more on that scene.
But even though there are some things I don't like I still love that movie. I love tango(even if it was danced in such an odd place). I love when Leon stares at Sara when she's eating the food he cooked for her. I love when Leon comes to rescue Sara and theirs baby. I love the final scene...I just love this movie. Yes, it was a big hit... mostly for Linda's fans. But I heard critics weren't too kind for Slesicki. They called SARA a bad movie with a bad plot.
They also said that Wlodarczyk was fake and Linda played the same boring, "tough guy" role. Well,I think Agnieszka was great and so natural. And so what if Linda acted one more "tough guy" role at least he can act. I wouldn't even consider watching a Polish movie made nowadays. Today all Polish actors suck.

Hi, there,
I've been exhausted too. School begins next week and I've been super busy getting everything ready. Yes, I did have fun on my vacation. Mostly just visited with relatives. It was nice to get out of Arizona's 110 degree heat for a while. I know what you mean about humidity. I'm originally from Florida so I know what you are going through right now.

Yep, I thought the scene with the drug dealer was kind of lame- at least the translation was. I totally agree with you about the movie needing more kisses. That is something that seemed to be lacking- and I thought it rather odd that Sara seemed to spend half the movie naked while Leon was fully dressed including that long coat. Remember the scene on the bike?

Now having said this I still love, love, love this film. The ending is my favorite part and my all time favorite ending for any film.I just it when Leon thinks Sara is dead and he starts pouring out his heart how much he loves her.I love the way they walk away to start a new life together. I love the song "I'm Your Man" at the very end that is sung by Leon. There are so many little details that make this movie endearing. I have loaned my copy to many of my friends and no one has disliked it.

Now I'll ask another question. Are relationships between teen girls and grown men accepted in Poland? I have to tell you that this film could NEVER have been made in the United States.

Hi! (I added new dialogs to my post from Sat Jul 16 2011. I used "edit" option)
I'm glad you got to spend time with your relatives. Funny I go for vacation to get away from my family:-)I've never been in Arizona but I heard that it is pretty hot. You may find this weird but I prefer cooler weather. When I'm cold I can always wear a sweater or get an extra blanket. When I'm hot I can't really do anything. There are air conditioners that's true but it's not the same as fresh air full of oxygen. Really you go back to work that early? I always thought that every school begins by the end of August. Well, maybe in Arizona it is different.

Yeah, I hate that Leon is always dressed...wrrr!!!! [it could be because even though Linda is not unfamiliar with nude scenes ("Szamanka" is an example-not the greatest movie by the way) he doesn't like to "run around with a naked butt" I read that in one of his interviews. Maybe Slesicki gave him a choice]. I would exchange a couple of naked Sara scenes for some kiss scenes if I were the director. Well, to tell you the truth in Poland that bike scene is pretty epic/legendary.

Haha. No, these kinds of relationships are not accepted in Poland. A Polish, teenage girl who wants to be with much older man would have to move out from her parents house or/and run away with him :-)
The way I see it "Sara" is Slesicki's gift to every teenage girl who at least once in her life had a crush on some older actor ("Sara" reminds me of my teenage crush on Patrick Swayze. I loved that man ever since I've seen "Dirty Dancing". I cried when he died).
What about "Lolita"? Haven't been this movie made half by American production?
I know it's based on a novel but still I was shocked when I read that it was half produced by the US. There are no naked Lolita scenes but some scenes between her and Humbert are so physical and erotic. And they actually kiss unlike in Sara...

Arizona is extremely hot in the summer with the temperature around 110 every day. The winters are wonderful with the average temperature around 72. No, I don't find it strange in the least that you prefere cold over hot weather. Many people like winter over summer. I've heard Poland is pretty darn cold in the winter so you are probably used to the cold.

You are correct in that almost every American school begins in early September and lets out in June. Arizona lets out in May with the students returning in mid-August. I've never figured out why this is and to me it makes no sense. August is one of the hottest months and the students can't be outside for more than 15 minutes at a time before they are in danger of the heat. Plus, the air conditioning bills for the schools are huge. Our school spends about $5,000 dollars per month to keep cool. Arizona used to grow a lot of cotton and the schools used to time the school year around the harvest because kids were needed to help on the farms but that was a century ago. You would think Arizona would realize that it's 2011 and not 1900 and re-adjust the school calender.

I totally agree with you that Sara could have used a couple of good kisses. Don't get me wrong, I love that bike scene, but it seems it takes place after they have made love and it looks a little odd to have Sara totally nude with Leon fully dressed including his coat. It would have seemed more realistic to show him at last bare chested in some of the scenes when they are at his apartment.

I guess I asked about relationships between teens and older men because age of consent veries so much between countries. Sara was the first Polish film I had ever seen. The second was Phy and the girl in it was also a teen-17 if I recall, with Linda's character in his mid-thirties.

I said this film would never have been made in the States because there are very strict laws about teens appearing nude in the media and what they are allowed to do in films regarding sexuality. In Sara, Leon is shown a couple of times touching Sara's breasts and obviously Linda was on set with the naked 16 year old actress. This would have been against the law in the States. Plus, this film has a happy ending with Sara and Leon truly in love with each other and able to fly off together to start a life with each other.

There are films made by the States about teens/older men but there seems to be an unwritten law that they must always end in tragedy. Either Sara would have been killed or Leon would have gone to jail for twenty years for statatory rape. A body double would have been used for any scene that involved nudity or sexual contact.

Lolita is a good example of this. The teen actress who played Lolita had to use a board between her and the lead actor even in a scene where she sits in his lap. A 20 year-old body double was used in a couple of scenes where Lolita is assumed to be naked. In one scene Lolita is shown with her hand on the lead actor's thigh and even the hand was the body doubles. Plus Lolita is a tragic film about the sexual abuse of Lolita and ends badly for every character. It is based off of a very famous novel and you wouldn't believe the outrage and controversy this film evoked. As a matter of fact, it took three years to be released because no film distributor wanted to take it. If you should watch it you would probably wonder what all the fuss was about because as far as sexuality goes it's pretty tame.

Please don't get me wrong- I'm not saying that the United States laws regarding nudity/sexuality in films with teens is right and Poland is wrong- I'm just saying it's different. Actually, I think the State's views have gone way overboard to the point of absurd. You won't even see a baby's bare bottom! Have you ever seen Leon the Professional with Natale Portman? The scenes that portrayed the young girl Matilda developing sexual feelings for Leon, her grown protector, were edited out of the United States release. This was unacceptable but it was just fine to show this same girl being taught how to kill people. Go figure.

I'm sorry I didn't add anything this weekend but I got so lazy...I promise I will next weekend.

You're right I'm used to cold winters and to be honest I could never stand 72 in the winter. There is not much of a difference between winter and summer temperatures in Arizona. I mean 72 is quite warm. The climate in Connecticut always makes me wonder. In the summer it's like Africa, in the winter it's like Antarctica.

Oh, you mean you asked me about if Polish laws allow these kinds of relationships. Well, I really don't know but I never met with a case like that when I lived in Poland. I knew some couples where she was 20-something and he was 40-something but that's all.
To be honest I don't like the fact that Sara was only 16 and I don't like the fact that they made Linda look so old (at the very beginning of the movie he looked younger). I also don't like the fact that Agnieszka had to be naked. I don't think the movie would miss anything if they didn't show her naked (but I still like the sex scene). If Aga had't been so good as Sara I would've adviced Slesicki to hire someone older-which he considered. I watched the interview.
I didn't know that Lolita had double. But I never really watched this movie just parts.
I'm not sure if the actress who played Angelica in PSY was 17. I tried to find out her date of birth and I only found 1978 which means she was only 13 back then and to me she looked at least 20.

The bike scene makes me laugh...together with that song: Turururum...turururum

Hey, don't feel any pressure to translate scenes. When you can that's great but din't sweat it if you don't get to it.

I assure you there is a TON of diference between 72 and 110. If you were in Arizona right now you would be longing for 72. It's so hot out right now you can't be out for more than ten minutes without getting heat stroke. 72 is about room temperature.

You know, the age difference between Linda and Aga in Sara never really bothered me. (It should because that's a huge difference- Linda was 45 when he made the film making him almost 30 years the senior of Aga.) I think it didn't bother me because the actors where so convincing I found it easy to believe that they were really, truly in love and were going to have a fantastic future forever living happily ever after.Perhaps teens in Europe are far more mature than teens in the United States. What do you think?

I totally agree that it wasn't needed to have Aga naked for most of the film. Don't know why the director chose to do so. I also agree that the movie wouldn't have missed much had Sara been a few years older- say 18-20. This probably would have made it a little more realistic.

You could make an American version of Sara easily if she was just a couple of years older- say 18 and beginning college instead of in high school. It would be great if an American version ever came about.

Yes, that bike scene is great and so is the music. I love all the songs! Sure wish I could get the soundtrack.

I'm sure 72 feels much cooler than 110. What I meant was that you probably don't wear heavy coats, you don't have windows decorated in frosty, "white flowers" (I actually like it) and you don't have to deal with driving in snow-which must be nice. One of the things that really bothers me about American towns is that whenever I want to go I have to take a car, either it's a store, school, work or simply a park...to take a walk. Well to be fair the main reason why it annoys me is that ever since I've moved here I have weight problems. I've always liked candies. In Poland that wasn't a problem. Whatever I ate I walked calories away. I barely ever walk here... unfortunately still like candies.

But I still prefer a freezing winter. It's my break from humid, stuffy air and way too much sun (especially this summer).

There is a difference between European and American teens but I really can't tell what is it. I also don't know if European teens are more mature than American teens but I do know that Polish teens overdose alcohol (same as Polish adults) and I wouldn't call that being mature.

Yes, Agnieszka and Bogus did a great job playing lovers (actually I felt weird when in the interview Agnieszka said that during filming most of the time she talked to Czarek Pazura not Boguslaw Linda!). They were so good I was sad when Sara got shot but I wasn't disappointed. I thought that there's no way the director would allow a 40-man and a 16-girl be together. Surprised I was when Sara opened her eyes. But I guess, it wasn't really a happy ending. Leon lost his father same as Sara lost hers (in some way) and an innocent teenage boy got killed.
I think "Sara" is not the only movie that could have never been made in the US. Take "Kroll" or "Psy". I don't think States would ever produce movies so pessimistic, so negative, so depressing...I wonder why I like them...oh right Linda:-) But seriously people like Linda, Pazura or Lubaszenko can act which I can't say about Polish actors today.

I can't tell you how to get Sara soundtrack but I can tell you how to download songs. Do you have iTunes? If no you can download it, if yes...
...go to google type: "Youtube to mp3". It will show you links. I prefer: http://www.youtube-mp3.org/
Then go to youtube. In the search window type: "I'm your man / Jestem Twój", then click on "share" You will see the URL of the video copy it and paste in a search window of YouTubemp3, then click on "convert video", then click on "download", then the mp3 window will pop up click on "ok" (but make sure you open it with iTunes) and viola. You can do the same thing with "Sztywny Pal Azji - Turururum" The only problem you can have with Tango because there's only a movie scene so you would hear whatever happens during Sara's and Leon's dancing. I heard Tango recorded on the soundtrack and I didn't like it. It's different than in the movie.

I've lived in Arizona for 15 years now. We don't have the four seasons like most other parts of the States and this is something I really do miss. My favorite time of the year is autumn. I love the trees changing colors and the fields turning from green to gold. I miss snow in the winter and watching the spring flowers come up and the bare trees begin to bud. Arizona seasons are very different. It doesn't cool down under 100 until mid-October. From October through December it is like spring with flowers blooming everywhere. In October you plant a vegetable garden and harvest in December. I've even had Christmas dinner outside on the patio. In January and February it does get cold in the mornings going down to the mid-thirties but it is usually up to the 60's by noon. Also, the leaves on the trees here will turn color just a little bit and drop off the tree but then they are immediately replaced by new buds which immediately bloom into leaves. By mid-May the temperature is once again hitting over 100 and remain there until October comes again.

Yes, everything here in the United States is spread out much wider than in Europe. If you think this is true for the East coast were you are- you should see it here in the west. We have had several friends come to stay with us from Italy and they have been just amazed at how wide the streets are, how much bigger the cars are how everyone seems to live in a house as opposed to an apartment. They even noticed that food portions are so much larger in restaurants. Everything is so far apart here in the west you really can't get around without a car.

I'd always heard that because Europe doesn't have drinking laws that European teens learn early NOT to ever be drunk or abuse alcohol. Guess that's a myth then.

Thank you for the info on how to get the music from Sara. It is very helpful.

Talk to you later.

More dialogs.

This is the scene when Kuba chases Marcin and then sprays gas in Marcin's eyes (Kuba did it because he got furious at Marcin for what he did to Agata's face)

Arek: Stop it!!! What's wrong with you? Do you want to finish him off?

Marta: Marcin...They took mother to hospital. Marcin, it will crush her. You can't do that to her. Say something Marcin

Wiaderny: So, are you happy now?
Kuba: He'll have enough time to think about his attitudes
Wiaderny: Yeah, for escape with the gun he will get 8 years
Kuba: what? How many?
Wiaderny: Get lost man

Kuba: You shouldn't have let her go alone. She's ready to harm herself. Marta are you deaf? I'm talking to you. Did she say anything?
Marta: She said nothing. She just walked away. Are you in pain? Tell me Marcin.
Kuba: What do you mean "she walked away"? You should've stopped her.
Marcin: Berger, you son of a bitch save my eyes

At the hospital

Marcin: What's going on?
Kuba: They're preparing your bandage
Marcin: Here's the window?
Kuba; Wiaderny says you can get 8 years. Marcin I didn't know
Marcin: Aga knew. I told her at the dorm after I hit her. I told her it's over between us so she blew the whistle on me
Kuba: She knew
Doctor: It won't be a big bandage. Everything will be fine
Kuba: You will prepare him a bandage as if nothing was fine.

Kuba: You have to do something for us...
Wiaderny: Get lost man
Kuba: You owe it
Wiaderny: To whom? To you?
Kuba: No, to Skinny
Wiaedrny: Skinny didn't drown? and it wasn't an accident?
Kuba: No
Marcin: Kroll knows it? It's because of us?
Kuba: No, it's because of you

Arek; Do you want to say goodbye to him?
Kuba: No
Wiaderny: We don't want to say goodbye to you either

Soldier: Lieutenant It came yesterday.
Arek: Open the door

Marta: It's all your fault. Do you hear me. I hate you. I don't want to see you ever again.
Kuba: Stop it. We will get him back. I still have 4 hours till my plane will take off

Melec: How will he know we'll wait at Sloneczny (bar)?
Kuba; We'll honk. Drive faster
Melec: What if that Lieutenant will be with him
Kuba: He won't. Wiaderny will take care of that
Melec; Do you trust him?
Kuba: I trust only you
Melec: There they are
Kuba: Honk and pass them

The note that Arek is reading says that they found weapon and it wasn't used. Kroll is not suspected anymore but he still is out of the unit without a permission to leave.

Arek: I used to have a soldier like you. In 1981 when we patrolled a port he almost killed some ZOMO guys because they dragged a woman. He was young.
Wiaderny: Lieutenant I heard you were arrested back then. Wojtynek that quartermaster says so
Arek: I broke a hand of one of them who dragged her. And that young soldier loaded a gun and kept silent. They were so afraid. You know Kroll after that it turned out she was theirs wh***e. We always met her when she waited near Zomo barracks and she always laughed at that young soldier for that he tried to protect her back then in a port...You escaped to kill??? You escaped to forgive. To believe that you have a faithful and wonderful wife as you wanted her to be. Unfortunately, she turned out to be a wh***e. It's always like that when you want to believe you have a woman because now you know Kroll what's the most important
Wiaderny: Lieutenant, something is wrong with him. Any moment now he takes a pee
Arek: Bogunia...pull over
Wiaderny: No, Lieutenant. Somewhere here is a bar "Sloneczny" maybe we could stop there.
Arek: Ok we'll stretch legs

Wiaderny: Kroll get out
Arek: Come on Kroll
Wiaderny: Lieutenant get rest. You don't have to babysit him. Aha...yy...keys
Arek: He can handle it
Wiaderny: Sure. I mean yes sir

Arek: Bogunia!!!
Wiaderny: We're just waiting Lieutenant because there...
The guy with a ponytail: How much that relief costs?
Wiaderny: Finally
Arek: Not here....there

Captain: Did you get the order
Arek: Not till this morning before we headed back
Captain: Not my fault. The order was waiting for you in the Garrison. If you'd dropped by there you wouldn't have had to chase after Kroll at nights
Arek: How did you find it?
Captain: We dried the pond
Arek: S***t
Wiaderny: Captain. Corporal Wiaderny...
Captain: Ok,ok stand at ease
Wiaderny:Kroll is already there. Doctor from the city has also come
Captain: Ok, come Arek
Arek: What? You didn't say goodbye at home?
Wiaderny: Lieutenant you know that here's my home
Arek: Really?

Captain: They sent us the order about promotions. You didn't get the 4th star
Arek: But it's not because of that case?
Captain: You did it to him?
Arek: No, he did it himself...in some way...

Czesiu: Oh s***t!!! (O Kurwa in Polish is a pretty heavy swear word)
Kuba: You have to do something with s***t (just so you know I made up that sentence because Kuba said: "Kurwe trzeba krancowac" and I have no idea how to translate that in English)
Captain: You pissed me off Kroll...you really pissed me off. I should take your eyes out and replace them with your cut off balls. But Lieutenant says that you're a good soldier
Kuba: But Mr. I don't...
Captain: What a *beep* Stand up!!!Tension!!! Arek: Tension!!! Captain: You're talking to officers you brat
Kuba: That's better tell him to stand at ease
Arek; Stand at ease
Captain: We found guns so the procurator won't be needed
Kuba: But Mr....
Arek: Shut your mouth Kroll!!!! "Yes sir" is the respond
Kuba: "Yes sir"?
Captain: You've seen when Privet Chudzinski left his guard, right? And during that free leave of absence he drowned in that...pond
Kuba: Yes sir
Captain: And you didn't get to...what...rescue him
Kuba: No I didn't get to...Yes sir
Captain: And you left the unit because of...what...because you were in shock
Kuba: Yes sir
Captain: I like that soldier
Arek: As the commander ordered for leaving the unit without permission you'll be taken to a disciplined unit in Orzysz where you will serve 90 days then you'll be taken to Zegan for the period of 226 days of service and 13 days for the escape
Kuba: 15
Arek: For 15 you would go to slammer. You are here since the day before yesterday
Kuba: Yes sir...but...
Arek: Don't say something we won't be able to forget. You owe him that...Kroll
It's only 329 days
Kuba: Yes sir
Arek: One soldier is one soldier, it's all the same to us
Kuba: Yes
Captain: They don't know you in Orzysz as well as in Zagan so you will be able to finish your service in peace...Aha..Kroll to the arrest for the night. Tomorrow morning you'll take the order and you'll take him to Orzysz in person...coming Czesiu?
Czesio: I'm coming, I'm coming
Captain: Then come

Kuba: When did you figure out the plan?
Arek: Shut your mouth Kroll
Kuba: Yes sir...How it is in here?
Arek: Hahahahaha...

Agata: You know, I will never cheat on Marcin again and I will never see Kuba again
Marta: Marcin will be so surprised when he sees us

In Connecticut the most obvious seasons are winter and summer. Autumn passes very fast (usually it starts the mid/end of October but snow can be expected no later than November) but spring comes and goes almost unrecognizably. For example this year I don't think we had spring at all. It was like from winter it skipped straight to summer. For the past two weeks it was really hot in here. But at least now the nights are cooler, which I really enjoy.

When I first moved to the US my cousins kept asking me about Poland. When I told them that I didn't have a car they were surprised and felt sorry for me. But I didn't understand why. I never felt I needed a car. It didn't limit me in any way.

Oh believe me Polish people drink way too much. No matter:teenagers or adults. It's like a Polish thing. Very sad but true.

This is the scene when they arrive to that dance-club "Venus"

The girl keeps screaming "Ted let's go home please!!!" The shirtless guy tries to make police pay attention to him saying "Come here" The other girl (who is on her knees) screams "Don't let him die" This scene is very odd. I don't understand what happened. Is this guy dead or just wounded? and who did it? I also don't understand why policemen just stand there and don't react. I mean there is an unconscious guy lying on the street!!!! And they don't try to stop the shirtless guy when he beats the girl.

Arek and Wiaderny get out of the car.

Kuba: Look over there
Agata: Don't let harm him
Marta: It's too late for that, don't you think?
Agata: Would you shut up already

Agata observes how the shirtless guy beats the girl:

Agata: Marcin
Kuba: Where?...Marcin hit you?
Agata: He always beat me
Marta: But why?
Agata: I didn't want to sleep with him

The shirtless guy becomes even more violent: He beats the girl telling her: "Get up you bitch or I will kill you"
Marta (to Kuba): Do something
But Kuba is just a coward nothing more (yes I hate the guy)

Then Wiaderny enters. He throws the guy on the ground and orders him: "Lie here, till I walk away...Lie here I said!!!"

Arek: Kroll with some blond chick took a wounded Arab to ER.WSW went there also. Do you understand?
Kuba: What if they check his documents?

Kuba: Marta
Marta: I'm not going

Arek: Stay here, okay?
Wiaderny: Sure
Kuba: Why don't you ask them?
Arek: When the hell did we pass the formal? (You see in Polish the form "Pan" (Mr.) is formal and the form "Ty" (you) is informal and Kuba addressed Arek per "Ty")
Kuba: Okay, we'll look by ourselves

The old woman: What are you staring at? You think you're better than me, aren't you?
Arek: Sit down. Don't stretch your legs

Agata: Hug me. Marcin brought me here. He broke my nose. Mother didn't let me stay in the hospital. He raped me the first time, then. Kuba, do you remember we were sitting in a park, I was sitting on your laps and was singing. It was April 25th and I didn't want to go to your place. After that Marcin and I got married and then it turned out I was pregnant. I had an abortion. It was a boy.
(I said it before and I say it now Agata is a strange woman. If Marcin hit her before the wedding why she married him?)
Arek: I found that Arab but I can't understand him

Arab: We were just walking and those guys started to provoke us and suddenly they started to beat us. Marcin intervened. I really don't know how did it happen. He knows Sylvia from school, right? Then all three of them brought me here. The ambulance didn't even come. Do you believe that?
Kuba: How do you know Marcin?
Arab: Actually, Sylvia was the one who brought me here

The doctor who walks in is Kuba's friend. Kuba calls him "Szczeniak" which seems to be his nickname and "szczeniak" in English means "puppy"

Szczeniak: What's up gentlemen? Interrogation? Then please go on
Arek: Stop that
Kuba: Hi Szczeniak
Szczeniak: Kuba? You...here? Can we talk in private? What are you doing?
Kuba: Listen Szczeniak, I'm very tired so if you have anything to tell me then say it
Szczeniak: Kroll and Sylvia Zwiranska were here. I wanted to guest them with coffee but Kroll was joking that WSW chases after him. And then I realized he really should be in the army. Kuba, outside of the building there are soldiers
Kuba; Where did they go? To Sylvia's?
Szczeniak: What are you going to do to them?
Arek: Help him
Kuba: Help him
Szczeniak: You were always his best friend
Kuba: Where?
Szczeniak: to "Grand Hotel"

Arek (to Agata and Kuba): Enter through restaurant (he means the other side of the building)

Arek: I have a question. Sylvia, where is she?

The guy who walks in asks guys who are playing cards: "So are you going? There is no point of waiting anymore"
Arek; We're looking for Sylvia
The guy: So how the searches are going?
Arek: Come with us
The guy: And who are you? I walk out with you and maybe you are sodomians
(Someone laughs and someone asks "Who?" but I'm not sure if that's the other guy or Wiaderny)
Arek: Sylvia, where is she?
The guy: First of all it's Mrs. Sylvia, second of all I don't know any Sylvia and third of all get out of here together with your boy. Get out or they throw you out

Artur: We're closed. But you're welcome to come tomorrow, dear guests
Kuba: Hi Artur
Artur: O! I can't believe my beautiful eyes. Kuba, 10 years and no one from our class has visited me yet. Hey, you know what? I bet you 20 bucks you won't guess who was here a minute ago
Kuba: Marcin Kroll with a beautiful Sylvia
Artur: You knew
Kuba: Where are they?
Artur: Kuba, it's a hotel secret
Kuba: Artur, it's important to me...I have to find him, now
Artur: Yhm...and what I have to do with that?
Kuba: I don't know. We used to be friends. I took your final exam in high school
Artur: What are you?...born yesterday? Who cares about that today?

The guy (knocks at the hotel room door): Sylvia

Arek; Where is Sylvia?
The guy: I will kill you basters
Arek: Do you want me to make your mind more bright?

Kuba: Get out at once! Get the hell out of the car!
Arek: What happened?
Kuba: *beep* what happened? nothing happened. I'm not a criminal, you know man. That's what happened. I live from a scholarship and my mother's disability insurance. Hell, in eight hours I have a plane to Vienna. A friend got me a job there. What are you getting me into, huh? You? and you? What? I have to be at the airport in 6 hours. I have to buy vinyls, vodka, cigarettes. Damn,I've never hit anyone and you make a fire on the guy's head? Get out, get out all of you. Get the hell out. You drowned one and the other one you want to burn, is that right? Get the hell out, now
Arek: And Marcin? Weren't you going to help him?
Kuba: Damn, what Marcin? We're looking for some freaking Mr. Hide not Marcin (I guess Kuba means here that he would never expect Marcin being able to hit Agata) Hey, you? What did I say? Get the hell out!
Agata: I wounded Marcin's hand with a knife then I wanted to throw myself out of the balcony but I was scared to do that. Marcin volunteered to the army because of me. He didn't have a place to go

Arek: Marcin did that Sylvia in the hotel and then they went to Jedlin, do you know where is it? Then go, we don't have much time left
Agata: I love you Kuba
Wiaderny:OH Jesus! What a company!
Arek: Shut up Wiaderny!
Wiaderny: Yes Sir!

The voice over: "Attention students. Do not let communists provoke you. Stay home. This demonstration is illegal"

The policeman: Turn off the engine. Documents, please
Arek (doesn't let touch his documents): I'm the one who can check yours holding in hands. Call your commander

Kuba: It's always the same
Arek: In 1981 they learned how to walk, isn't that right?
Wiaderny: Lieutenant, there have to be pigs and there have to be students. Everyone knows their own truth

Agata: It's my turn now. I'll go alone

The guy at the party: Aga. I didn't think you would come
Agata: What? I can't hear you
The guy: I'm wondering why I didn't do you after the prom
Agata: Because you were annoyed at me
The guy: I don't remember
Agata: What are you playing right now?
The guy: Modern Talking (which is not true the song at the party is "Krew Boga" (The God's blood) by Kult)
Agata: Where's Marcin?
The guy: In my bed, in 412
Agata: I have to go
The guy: Come back. Maybe this time I succeed (he of course means to have sex with her)

Agata: Marcin? Marcin, I love you. I was completely alone. When Kuba visited me I thought you told him to watch over me. I have no idea how did it happen. I disgust myself. Marcin, don't leave me

Agata: I love you
Marcin: Then take off your clothes
Agata: Please, don't do it
Marcin(hitting her): At once!
Agata: Please
Marcin: I should kill you...And the next time he will screw you...you can think it's me

Wiaderny: And Wojtynek that quartermaster says that you sir still are just Lieutenant because of the Szczecin
Arek: Is that what he says?

Agata: He's in room 412
Arek: Come

The guy: Let me Sylvia...(to Wiaderny) You are just a bunch of molecules

Marcin: It's good you're finally here. I didn't know what to do with myself anymore

Agata: Don't turn on the lights
Kuba: Why?
Agata: Because I don't want to see you

Arek: Where's the gun, Kroll
Kroll: Lieutenant, are we at the company?
Arek: What the *beep* are you talking about?

Marcin: Alone? And where is the bitch?
Kuba: Don't call her like that
Arek: Wiaderny, help him stand
Marcin: Do you think you're special to her? You are just stupid son of a bitch, Kuba. She sleeps with everyone.
Kuba: Stop it
Marcin: Why? Zylu had her, Wdowa, Mierzej, that zero Smialowski...and you
Kuba: Stop it
Marcin: No, buddy. I won't stop. You stole my wife. We have been friend for 15 years. Everything we did together. And now we are doing the same woman
Arek; Kroll, get your act together. We have to talk
Marcin: You are a piece of *beep* You're the worst piece of *beep* I know
Kuba: I know
Marcin: We all know. So what?
Kuba: So I don't like you anymore Marcin

Wiaderny: Okay Kroll, that's enough
Kroll: Let me go
Arek: Calm down, damn it
Wiaderny says something like "Lieutenant, that's their..."(I don't know what he says next)

Wiaderny: Kroll!!!

Wiaderny: Now, what?
Arek: Take left
Wiaderny: Yes sir

Police: We've got him
Arek: Stop, enough. I said enough. He's mine
(Whoops it's not Kroll)
Wiaderny: Where the hell are your Corporals?
Policemen: We are corporals

Kuba: I'm fed up with him
Agata: Where is he?
Kuba: He escaped them
Agata: What do you mean he escaped?
Kuba; Son of a bitch
Agata: Kuba don't do it. It was my fault. I provoked him
Agata/Marta: Kuba don't. Come back

Kuba: Marcin! I'll kill you

Arek: Kroll. Me or the prosecutor. The choice is yours.

Arek: Kroll!!!
The policeman: Don't move or I'll shoot

Hey just wanted to let you know I added more dialogs to my yesterday post.
I also think that was the last of it. My posts with dialogs altogether form the whole movie. I will try to get them in order.
