Am I the only person who actually liked this?

I'll admit, it had its flaws, but it was still much better than the Knight Rider rip off NBC did with the Mustang and the F-150. It sucked they killed off Devon, and that they didn't use the black firebird, but they were smart enough to bring back most of the cast.

If someone asks if you are a god, you say, "yes!"

No, there are two people in this world including myself who found this movie highly enjoyable. I thought the script (while somewhat action lacking) had a good story and all the characters were well written and very beleavable. I was so disappoinated when I was 10 that it was never picked up as a series as they were advertising at the time. TKR, or the patheitc 2008 fisherprice remake in my mind never happened in the knight rider universe, only the original series and its only true sequeal -2000, exists.

so...make that 3 people who love this movie. so wished it couldve been picked up as a series and actually ran a good few seasons. Team Knight Rider and Knight Rider 08 never happened for me either

and it's only true sequel - 2000

I also believe that this movie is a true sequel to the original TV Series, since it involves Michael, Devon, and KITT.

I must admit, that this movie has a lot of flaws, and considering this was a reunion movie of sorts, it was sort of a let down, because there was not a lot of Knight Industries "James Bond" action...

With That Said, I do agree that the story was good, and the acting was good too... The plot of Michael having lost his purpose and then dealing with Devon's death was a high point of the movie. The whole movie felt emotional, and did feel realistic. It could have been far worse.

However, My Biggest Gripe, then and now, was what they did to KITT over the years, between the show, and this movie...

IS IT JUST ME?... Or am I the only one that thinks KITT is a real artificial lifeform in the Knight Rider Universe?

We have seen this time and time again, in movies and TV Shows. Artificial Intelligence, that is suppose to be alive, and becomes FRIENDS with the main characters...

It is suggested that other than the evil KARR, KITT is the only artificial lifeform in the Knight Rider Universe... and after Michael leaves the foundation, they shut KITT down and stick him in storage?

As described in the episode "Junkyard Dog", KITT is the "world's greatest automobile"... KITT even showed emotions from time to time, like Fear in 'Junkyard Dog"...

Yet, they just stick him in the back of a "closet".

Am I the only one that has a problem with that? Why would Devon allow that? I just don't get how KITT's "Friends" could do that to him...

At the very least they could have taken his CPU out of the Trans Am... which was done a few times on the show... and allow KITT to be an advisor, or to be the foundation's computer, or something...

We are lucky that Maddox didn't sell KITT's CPU off...

And that comment Maddox said about KITT being "an exceptional car for time". HUH? The only artificial intelligence life form is now outdated? And I don't see other cars like KITT driving around in this movie... What a bunch of BS!

At first I thought KITT was being a bit bitchy to Michael and Devon at the beginning of the movie. Well, I guess they deserved it...

I liked it too. I recorded it back when it first aired, when I was 11, and watched that tape many times after.

I actually liked that they killed off Devon as I felt that it gave some real emotion to the plot rather than killing off a random character who the audience doesn't care about.

I didn't mind it. Finished up the first Season on DVD, and this movie was included as a special feature.

I still love the movie after 25 years, and agree about the "Team" series and the '08 revamp. Both were horrible; the original still works though.
