Why do finish people in movies allways sound russian? Is that allso so they wont offend any real finish people by trying to sound like them? Or is it that they just dont have a clue what finish people sound like? Or is it that it would ruin people's illusion of what the stereotypical finish person sounds like?

shareWell 1st of all, there are no kings in Finland. There is a prime minister-type fronting the Finnish gvt. Secondly, I lived in Finland for 2 years and not one actor who portrayed any part of the Finnish royal family sounded one bit like a Finn.

I don't know if they sounded Russian in the movie or not. It was hard to tell.
But I do know this: Finns don't sound like other Scandinavians because the Finnish language isn't Scandinavian. It's Uralic. The Finnish language is pretty distinct by itself, although it is related to Hungarian and Turkic. The Scandinavian languages -- Norwegian, Swedish, Danish and Icelandic -- are Germanic languages and are related to German, Dutch and good ol' English.

I laughed about these Finns, hehe. Finland king and princess, hehe, and they had totally wrong accent. Ive always thought finnish blue bloods talks Finglish not english hehe. Anna was also a bit too good looking to be from Finland, good shapes ^^ Well, none of them looked like enough finns. Ah, but who cares, this was comedy, not about real life. :)
