Could've been a great movie

There were several good ingredients, but when you burn the cake it still tastes like crap. With a different lead actor, and a few better writing and directing decisions, and you'd have a winner. Since I already made a cooking analogy, I'll make another and say that there was definitely too much cheese in some of the scenes. 80's and early 90's comedy was so bad. They should've left all the little cheesy joke lines out. Nobody spouts one liners while taking on a military force kidnapping your brother in Lebanon.
