Actually a good movie.

I mean seriously this movie was really good. I liked it better than the first. Although I must admit I saw this one first. This was a fun and touchy movie. It was an action movie that managed to keep me involved, with touching moments, and some hilarity. I would give it a 6.

Although I must admit, I dont care for the movies that are all action, with no comedy. However, most of the people who watched this movie saw Van Damme's first so it is very understandable that the rating is so low, but I believe that the rating would be higher if it were not only action movie lovers who watched it.

I dig the ominous tone during the fight between Brian and Tong Po. You just know Tong Po is going to let the guy leave the ring alive. That's one correct point Eric Sloane made in the first one.

The continuity would have been better if he had been mentioned or shown at least once in the original movie. For example, if he had been in the audience cheering when Eric became world champion by beating the current champion (of western kickboxing as opposed to muay thai) and if there had been some scene where a slightly younger Sasha Mitchell says to his 2 bros (sorry I cannot go with you to Thailand but I have a martial arts studio to run) When Kurt was talking to Mylee about his life and parents etc he never mentioned him either.

Plus if you do take this movie as canon it ruins the first one. How much can I enjoy the "happy" ending of the first film knowing the main hero, his crippled brother and his beautiful girlfriend will all be shot to death within a few weeks? Kind or ruins the "happy ending"

How enjoyable would bloodsport's ending be if you knew the next day Chong Li would machine gun Frank Dux and Dux's friends and family too?

Well, that is the disadvantage of retconning. They didn't know they were going to make a sequel without Van Damme when they were doing the first movie and they definitely didn't know they were going to have Sasha in it so how would they have been able to accomplish it? Shoehorning some random character into the narrative would have been weird if there wasn't a direct plan already in the works, which there wasn't.

I will give credit where it is due. Did anyone notice the dull blank stare the glazed eyes of Tong Po? That shows GREAT acting. Michael Qissi really nailed the psychotic look. Its hard to describe here but the psychotic glazed eye look was just terrifying.

This movie sucked and its the reason it barely grossed 1 mill.in the states. It was way too predictable. The acting was bad, the writing was very bad. It was only when his former student got his ass kicked by Po that Sloan wanted revenge. ( Hey David Sloan remember your brothers?)Hence this movie wasnt very character driven at. The character of Xian, why did he reaappear in this movie? He had nothing to do with this low grade plot. Its like they wanted him be in this sequel but that had to force Xian somewhere in the movie whether it connected to the plot or not. The slow motion fight scenes had no point to it except it made u realize it wasn't a real fight like its supposed be portayed in any kickboxing movie. At least make it look real. My score 2/10 and that's only because Qissi was the best actor in the movie.

All of these types of movies are predictable.

yes predictable but still fun. Sasha Mitchell carried the lead role well in parts 2 thru 4. low budget martial arts movies are a great marathon

Rob Zombie is one of the greatest directors today
