Albert Lewin

Does anybody know if Soderbergh is a fan of Lewin? The shift from monochrome to colour in this movie is reminiscent of his work and as a fan of both I'm probably projecting (Ha!)
Any thoughts?
P.S. I once sold Jeremy Irons a lightbulb whilst working in a hardware store in Hampstead, I supposed I should have asked him.
