The Sam JAckson subplot made much better than the main plot

The Snipes plot was made in a very immature manner, right down to the office politics caricature(there is racism at the workplace, but did Lee have to direct those scenes in a cartoonish manner?). The whole Snipes character having it both ways at the end while Sciorra's character is left hanging. (it's been a while, so i forget her final scenes). The women talking to each other scene about interracial relationships was one of the few good scenes from that part of the movie.

Lee got the Sciorra family dynamics fairly right even if Quinn's acting was way too hammy. I liked it better when I saw it first in the 90s. But rewatching parts of it a few years later, I just found a lot of the amateurish scenes I excused back then less tolerable.

The only scenes that really stand on their own are the ones with Sam Jackson which was an oscar worthy role.
