The most poignant part of the movie was the death scene of Joesphine's mother. One minute, she's hobbling into the manor with the passel of children, and the next..WHAM!

Josephine's mother died in her bed in January.

I thought this film was extremely well-done and yes, apparently Josephine Baker led a very sad, tragic life.

I just bought this movie. I had already watched it a few years ago and I really enjoyed it. It's a great movie.

I just saw it again last Wednesday...very sad, but this is one movie that I can watch over and over again.
