Ilsa Grunt - One of the greatest female villains ever !!!!!!!

Linda Hunt's character in this helps make this movie a lot better than it should have been. Ilsa Grunt is ruthless and evil to the core, and looks like she's having a good time while carrying out her evil deeds. The scene with the whip where she takes out Roger Daltry is classic. I have never seen anything like that in a movie. It is such a great contrast to see her appear to be harmless and then she turns out to be the most deadly character in the movie.

Oh yes! She is very deadly, nasty and mean!!! But I preferred Areola Canasta! She is like the perfect femme fatale I think - sexy and dangerous... and she had a funny and thrilling demise!!!

agreed. every time i see her on tv i think of this movie.

I like the relationship she has with Zigesfeld. Watch the scene where she strokes his hand at the airport and says, "It's me" and he smiles. I get a definite sense that she's very motherly towards him, and that he in turn is more loyal to her than he is to Steranko. Two great villain characters, far better than the main villain, all thanks to Linda Hunt's acting and the little character moments like the scene at the airport.

I like Hunt here not only because she's such a terrific actress but because she's so against type. This tiny woman who is utterly deadly.

’Cause there’s thunder in your heart... Every move is like lightning!

The Ilsa Grunt character is a pale carbon copy of the Rosa Klebb character played by Lotte Lenya in the James Bond movie FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE. Anyone, and I mean ANYONE, who find's Linda Hunt's portrayal in this film, or the character she plays, to be original in any way has NOT seen enough movies. It's an affectionate homage, to be sure, but nothing more, and the movie is cut-rate at best.

Name-wise she's more like Irma Bunt to be honest.
