I love both of them but I'm partial to Part Deux simply because of the Martin Sheen cameo/Apocalypse Now reference.

Hear, Hear! That scene also reminds me of Platoon becouse of Charlie's voiceover.

The first is much better, though.

the first part is great, but has a slower pace and feels much older than the second one, even though they're just two years apart (i would've sworn there's at least a 5 year difference). the humor is probably drier in the first part, and sillier in the second.

the second feels much more current to me for some reason. the first one got stale fast for me, i didn't really like the many aircraft scenes, it bored me a little. it's much more serious than the second one, too, but that's probably why many people like it more than the second.

me, i prefer the second one, but they're both great movies.
