Tinker Bell is horrible

Julia Roberts is the worst Tinker Bell ever. She is Just NOT Tinker Bell. First of all, Tink doesn't talk. She tinkles like a bell. Hence her name. Secondly, this character is Just way way too nice. This is not the same character who tried to have Wendy killed by the Lost Boys. I don't know if it's bad directing or bad writing or bad acting, but it's BAD!

Actually, all fairies have different jobs in Neverland. Her's is that of a "tinker" - one that builds things, hence the name.

Ahhh, the things you learn from having a "Disney Daughter." 

reply

Yes, but she does not talk though. She tinkles like a bell. It's written in the book. It's a fairy language.

I love you, Kristen Stewart. :) You are so beautiful and talented. I would love to perform with you.

reply

I get that, but it has also been decades that she's been hanging around with humans. I chalked it up to her having learned how to finally speak.

reply

No,. That's not how fairies work. No. Tinker Bell doesn't talk and this character is Just way way way too nice. Tinker Bell is meant to be a bitch. I studied J.M. Barrie and I know almost every adaption of Peter Pan that exists. I am Peter Pan's biggest fan. Tinker Bell never learns how to talk. Actually, to be honest, Tinker Bell is dead when Peter returns for Wendy. Tinker Bell is not even supposed to be around.

I love you, Kristen Stewart. :) You are so beautiful and talented. I would love to perform with you.

reply

Ok, so what you are saying is that out of 7 BILLION people, YOU are the only one who knows how Tinker Bell is supposed to be and therefore there can never be any other adaptation of her.

reply

I'm saying, Barrie would be disgraced.

reply

Who knows? The guy who wrote How To Train Your Dragon is fine with the way they "butchered" his books but Roald Dahl hated Willy Wonka and the Magic Chocolate Factory. 

reply

so did P.L. Travers. She hated Mary Poppins film.

reply

Right. So there is no telling how he would have felt since some authors like movie which detour from the book(s) they wrote.

reply

No. He would've hated it. He would've especially hated the Disney film. For making Hook into a buffoon and for doing close ups on fairies.

Says the IMDb user who enjoys Kristen Stewart. The only one disgraced here is you.

Julia Roberts was also apparently a huge "Cee U Next Tuesday" on the set, which lead to Steven Spielberg to vow to never work with her again:

She's the best Tinker Bell. Why? Because she's not extremely annoying like Tink in the Disney Peter Pan. I hate that Tinker Bell.

I now wonder how Drew Barrymore would've fared as Tinkerbell? There's obviously, the Spielberg connection dating back to when they made ET. I was looking at footage of Drew in the '90s, and her short, spiky hairstyle kind of reminds me of the hairstyle that Julia Roberts sported in Hook.

I don't necessarily know if this perfectly applies to the Tinkerbell character, but Drew Barrymore always had this "manic pixie dream girl" vibe to her. I do however wonder, if she would've been too young at the time. Drew Barrymore was I believe, only 15-16 years old around the time that Hook was being produced.
