(Spoiler Alert) So Faber + Sabeth were...

Father and Daughter?

The movie was ok. I didn't like Sam Shepard in this. His voice reminded me too much of the janitor from Scrubs -very monotone (specially noticeable when he does the narration parts in the movie).

Julie Delpy was awesome, as always.

Well yes & no. Technically they were but they didn't know it when they started their romance! Walter was betrayed by his first Love who promised him she was getting an abortion but didn't! So...it's one of those situations that could have happened to any of us when someone does NOT follow through with a promise!! And it was not the snake that killed her!

Aha. Thank you kindly for your reply. I did get that the snake didn't kill her. It was definitely interesting to say the least. I think it could have been (maybe) better with a different lead male actor, but that's just my opinion. I couldn't buy that she would fall for him. Maybe opposites were suppose to attract in this one.

I'm sure Sam Shepard would agree with you. His diaries during this period are in his book entitled "Cruising Paradise" The name of the film's never mentioned, but certain scenes he had to work in and the period clothing and the areas in which they filmed were all detailed by Shep's hand. Reading those entries in his journals will shine a bit of personal light upon this lovely, but flawed film. And they say the life of an actor is a cakewalk.. HA! Maybe a cakewalk if you never have to leave LA or NYC but these people were in remote Mexico. Some of the situations that occured during that shoot were hilarious!
