Chuck's Shotgun

What the name of the double barrel shotgun that Chuck uses throughout the movie?

reply

Some kind of custom made cut down, probably a 20 gauge custom or seomething special that "chuck's character" would have had made. I guarantee you that fine looking piece would have had a real life range of about 15ft if lucky. Its certainly a specialty gun and not something ud find on the market.

reply

it's a 'street sweeper' - automatic sawed off shotgun. definately a specialty gun. in other words chuck norris has half a dozen of them or so.

reply

It was definitely not an automatic. It clearly had two barrels and you could see Norris break it open to reload it several times.

reply

A street sweeper is an automatic 12 gauge shotgun that holds 6-12 rounds in a revolving drum.

Chucks piece, was a double-barrel stainless steel cutdown, in an obscure caliber such as 20 or 16 gauge. You can tell by the size of the shells he carries in one scene. The prescence of dual triggers also indicates a "two shot" weapon.

reply

20 gauge is hardly obscure. It's still a very popular round.

reply

very true, great round for hunting wild turkey, but it falls to the 12 gauge for self defense purposes unlike its portrayal in this great film.

reply

Mossberg markets a .410 specifically for the home defense market.

While the 20 ga is smaller than the 12, it is by no means small. Keep in mind, it's still a .61 slug if used to fire slugs. Some law enforcement agencies have authorized them for female and small statured officers who found the recoil of the 12 ga. was causing flinching problems.

It appears to be a sawed-off Browning Over/Under double-barrelled shotgun with the wooden fore-grip removed. From the size of the barrels, I'd guess it's either a 12 or 16 gauge.

Gotta love the internet, this shows every gun he uses in the movie.

If you don't want to click the link it's a Sawn-Off Over/Under Shotgun with the foregrip removed.
