the renegade version should have a separate page

I came here to post the exact same thing. Not a separate message board perhaps, but if a film releases an "Alternate cut", a "Director's cut" or a "Special Edition", you should be able to vote on them separately.

its still too much of the same film to be counted as 2 separate movies.
its not like Exorcist: The Beginning and Exorcist:Dominion.

for the majority its the same footage but with alternate titles and dialogue.

Unfortunately, that way lies madness (or at least a lot of confusion). Too many films these days are subsequently released or re-released on DVD as 'Director's Cuts' or 'Special Editions'. Bladerunner probably holds the record, but there's also Darth Lucas's numerous tinkering and CGI-tweaking of his various Star Wars movies. For another example, Ridley Scott's Robin Hood is only available on DVD as a 'Director's Cut' with 15 minutes of additional footage - the original version shown in cinemas has never been released!

If IMDB started giving every version of a movie it's own entry, complete confusion would reign. People would soon lose track of which version they were reviewing, commenting on, voting for, etc.
