LOL, no cops anywhere...

There's a distinct lack of law enforcement in this film. I really love this movie, it's the type of fun, guilty pleasure old time macho *beep* most Hollywood big players can't do to save their lives anymore. But this one detail in the film was just ridiculous.

To mention some examples:

- Harley shows up to the scene of a gas station robbery. Okay, justified in that Harley stopped the whole thing before it even properly started, and then left before any units could respond. But there's more...

- Marlboro is a belligerent in a pretty intense bar fight. A fight that doesn't seem to interest the bouncers any more than it did the cops.

- Marlboro later loudly shoots up his old bike to put it out of it's misery, in a very public place where at least somebody should've heard. Again, no reaction from anywhere.

- The group pulls a pretty flashy armored truck heist, that involves the use of explosives, and ends in a very loud gunfight before they escape. We don't even so much as get the sirens wailing in the distance.

- The bank goons run around in the airport, brandishing their big weapons in a visible manner while in search of Harley & Marlboro, and we're expected to believe that airport security isn't interested in the least?

- We have a scene where a helicopter gunship loudly trashes the top floor of a downtown high rise with it's machine gun, again, to no effect whatsoever.

The only time we see any police action in this movie is when Marlboro gets friendly with Virginia, and she's unlikely to arrest the guys for real due to their obviously close relationships. Even when Marlboro spitefully steals the cop husband's bike, she (or the husband for that matter, surprisingly) is not bothered enough to put out an APB on him. I guess this is all another good example of not letting those silly facts get in the way of good storytelling.
