A gem of a movie *SPOILER*

*SPOILER ALERT AT END*

I loved, loved, loved this movie. The acting was superb by all involved. It is a fun-to-watch romantic comedy and while watching it I felt nostalgic that they literally don't make movies like this anymore. I also thought it represented small town life quite well.

Also, I adore seeing a man fight and scratch and claw to keep a woman he loves. Even if it is fiction. Sigh.

If I were Christine (Spacek), I would've so dumped Walt and ridden off with Joey (Petersen) WHEREVER he wanted to go. :)

Chris was a dumb ass! First of all she let her friend, Dawn and her mom and others convince her to divorce her husband without ever telling him anything was wrong. Don't you think she should've discussed the problems she was having with their marriage with him and given him a chance to make some changes to save the marriage. He was clueless to the fact that she wasn't happy with their arrangement. Maybe he should've caught on, but he is just a man, after all and most men think as long as no one is complaining in any situation, marriage, job, whatever, that everything is fine. Even their daughter had better sense than her. She asked her mom "why can't we just go with Daddy? I wonder if Walter ever found out that Chris slept with Joey the night before she married Walter? She obviously still loved Joey & probably wound up miserable with goofy, ugly, boring Walter.

This movie reminds me of Chance Are.

No more IMDB boards for me!
