The VHS I used to CONSTANTLY rent from Blockbuster as a kid had these moments of violence in it, and whenever I picked it up on DVD years ago I was thoroughly disappointed that they were removed.

There's a widescreen Japanese laserdisc release that contains all of the stuff from the DVD as well as the gore from the old VHS copies.
Trust me, I own it.

The cut head smashing brains leak and the arm being torn off with the bloody neck slap are the two I recall seeing, I didn't watch the video but I remember being pissed that they dumbed down the violence on DVD.

So theres no DVD in the US that has the graphic violence?

I could've sworn my DVD (bought in the US) has the arm ripping, and throat slitting part. I remember those parts from when I used to watch the copy my dad taped from Pay Per View. I don't remember the zoanoid blood dropping to the floor as his head is crushed. I'll dig out my DVD and take a look.
