Best movies on this subject?

I'm looking for really impactful movies on the subject of McCarthyism and/or the writers/producers who really suffered from the persecution. Please leave your suggestions.

Try 'The Front', it has woody Allan, but its not a comedy,

"We're all out of cornflakes. F.U." Took me three hours to figure out F.U. was Felix Unger!

there is an excellent documentary on Dalton Trumbo (1905-1976) called "Trumbo" ... don't flinch at the word documentary ;) ... it is a lively film that shows how his career (he was a well-known and well-respected screenwriter) was ruined by McCarthy and his minions but Trumbo kept his sense of humor, his wit, and his sanity and never backed down ... they share letters he wrote to answer various problems he encountered and you get a first hand example of what a fine writer and wit the man was ...

a truly outstanding documentary on a truly outstanding american

take care,
cormac

I believe Good Night and Good Luck covered this in part. An excellent movie.
