... who supposedly overheard Idgie threaten Frank Bennett's life. The only extra guy at the house that day was that one unexplained friend and helper. (The one who warned not to make Big Sam mad...cuz he gets crazy.) So who heard this threat that Idgie's accused of in court.

BTW, the guy you reference that says Big Sam will get crazy was Idgie's brother.
That is, Idgie's brother Julian, the one who wore glasses, who started the brawl with Idgie on the day of their sister's wedding and brother Buddy's train wreck death. And from whom she borrowed the keys to his car when Idgie and Ruth went on the picnic and the famous bee and honeycomb scene.
