Can you control your dreams? Can you bring people into them?

One thing I love about the Nightmare series is what they show about dreams and the power of dreams. I have always been able to control my dreams & actually assumed it was normal until my friends told me they couldn't do it. I was in a mental hospital similar to one in this movie as a teenager for about a year or so. I tried to end my life due to major depression and other problems. I remember my psychiatrist being very impressed by the fact I could control my dreams. During one session I was telling her about nightmares I had and she asked what I did to comfort myself after I woke up. I told her I didn't really need to comfort myself because when I had nightmares I always told whoever was in it that I didn't want in my dreams to get out. They would leave or vanish. She was shocked and I just told her I have always been able to control my dreams. I went on to tell her how I can pause, rewind or even fast forward my dreams. I remember doing this as young as the age of 4 or 5. My grandmother could do this too and we'd also often share dreams similar to what you see in the Nightmare movies.

Once I grew up and had my own children I would tell them how to control their dreams if they had a scary dream. Then one morning I heard my oldest telling her siblings about her dream the night before. My son spoke up and actually finished telling the dream. This went on for about a week or so. I actually suspected they planned this or were playing a trick on me. Yes, my grandmother and I could do this too but I didn't even think my kids could do it. But, my oldest one morning came whining to me "Mom, will tell him to stay out of my dreams? He keeps changing things!" I actually had to laugh out loud. She got mad at me and her brother laughed too. I don't know why I found it so funny but I did and still do. So next thing I knew I heard myself saying to her brother " Don't go into her dreams unless she calls in, ok?"

My husband too was skeptical about this but my kids a few times called their dad into dreams to protect them when scary things happened and they were too scared to kick the monster out or pause the dream. He rarely remembers his dreams and actually told me at one point he didn't dream at all but he would remember the ones when our kids called him in.

I know my kids and I are not the only ones to do this. I'm in a couple paranormal groups (I know many don't believe me but yes i really do see dead people like Sixth Sense & Ghost Whisper) & there are many others out there who also can control dreams and call people into them.

There are times though if very stressed where it is harder to control things but that is just a sign or warning to me that I need to do something to ease my stress. I have dreamed of Freddy too but usua,lly he is almost always in a movie or tv show & I do not want to watch him. I find that funny but because I love the nightmare series but in my dre,ams the movies freak me out. lol

I'm curious if any others here can do this too
