The whole soundtrack is wonderful. That song should be familiar for more than one reason. It's a Beatles song! Many of the WWII and Korea era songs were written by that great American songwiter, Johnny Mercer. I highly recommend that anyone interested in the music in this movie also check out other recordings of Johnny Mercer's music.

The "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil" soundtrack is a great one to start with and Sinatra recorded an entire album of Mercer tunes, some of which are the same that Bette sings in "For the Boys".

Great music all around!

I thought it was called, "There are places I remember". Regardless, that is an awesome song.

Yes, it's "In My Life." This movie has a fabulous soundtrack. I was lucky enough to find the sheet music book for the whole soundtrack. Bette Midler and Barry Manilow both have pulled some great 40s music back to fore, including in this film.

I also love the song in the end credits "Baby It's Cold Outside." Not used elsewhere in the movie, but it's a good song for Eddie and Dixie. You could just imagine them doing it in a Christmas show.

The song is also on "Bette Midler: Experience the Divine", her Greatest Hits CD from 1993. I believe it was re-released about ten years ago, with extra tracks on it as well.

Paul Ryan's proposal is a budget that goes against the teachings of Jesus.
