In the anniversary special DVD of The Year My Voice Broke, Carmen(Freya) speaks to Duigan about how he wanted Nicole Kidman originally to play Freya.

Anyone think that this would have worked? Personally I don't think Nicole Kidman could have played that part as well as Carmen and am happy she was chosen over a more well known Nicole at that time. But anyone think otherwise? And if so why?

If this had happened I think it would not have been such a perfect Movie and then Sequal as Flirting would have also been affected minor but still Nicole's part in it is still significant from Thawndies side of characters. I wonder who would have played Nicole's character, if casting had gone a different route.
