One of the best movies of the 90's
does anyone else agree.
the character of Eddie King Jr. is a classic.
"You may kill me with your hatefulness,
But still, like air, I'll rise"

Always been a personal favourite of mine - bought the DVD and the soundtrack
shareI'm not sure if I would go quite that far, but I do love this movie. I have watched it at least 20 times, and never get tired of it. I agree 100% about the character Eddie King Jr.; Michael Wright's performance was worthy of an Oscar nomination.
My favorite line in the movie is a throwaway line which is spoken right before Dresser confronts Eddie about Jimmy's mysterious death. Right before Dresser appears, Choir Boy asks Eddie,"Eddie (dramatic pause), got any gum?"
my favorite line from the movie is Big Red when he said
"My business hours are 9 to 5!"
I just watched it, because a black basketball player (I think) on MTV Cribs said it's his favourite movie. Anyone remember who that was?
The movie is pure honey, the music is something to cheer for, there are moments that almost make you cry and so on...'nuff said!
River told 'The spirits were coming to get him and whoever was up there was pulling him away.'
Eddie reminded me of the late David Ruffin from The Temptations.
In 1998 Leon Robinson would play Ruffin in "The Temptations" miniseries.
